Article Ontario 27 Marion Harding 12
Using rosters from Max Preps and Hudl
My first trip to Ontario for a football game was a battle between Marion Harding and the Ontario Warriors. It was homecoming for the Warriors, who entered 6-0, while Marion Harding came in at 4-2. The crowd was large and loud, and they seemed to be into the game right up to the end.
The Warriors Maddix Smith got to Brock Johnson for a loss of ten, with 8:20 left in the quick-paced opening quarter. With 6:20 showing on the clock, Trey Remy and #0 (not on the Ontario roster) got to Jaden Jordan for a loss of two.
The Warriors offense would get a 21-yard run from Max Ciroli at the 4:40 mark of the quarter. Ciroli picked up 14 yards, with 2:01 left, and then Sean Tanner ended the 7-play, 63-yard drive with a 3-yard touchdown run following the P.A.T. by Jaxon Craze. We had a 7-0 game.
Facing a fourth and six with 11:46 left in the half, Marion Harding rolled the dice and went for it. That decision turned out good when Cordez Feliciano connected with Reggie Walker for a gain of 25 yards. A hold after the catch brought the ball back some, but the Presidents had the first down. The 11-play, 59-yard drive ended on a 2-yard touchdown run by Mattic Simmers. The P.A.T. by #40 (not on the Marion Harding roster) was no good, leaving the 7-6 game with 8:21 left in the half.
The Warriors got a 22-yard run from Ciroli, then a 17-yard pass reception by Cardae Brown to help set up an 8-yard touchdown run from Zane Curry to make this a 14-6 game, with 6:04 left in the half.
The player who is not on the Warriors roster tackled Simmers for a loss of six yards, with 5:07 remaining in the half. From there the Warriors' defense quickly got their offense back on the field. Ciroli made a 29-yard run with 3:19 left in the game. The 5-play, 79-yard drive ended on a 6-yard touchdown run from Tanner, making this a 20-6 game, with 1:04 left in the half.
Maddix Smith got to Feliciano for a loss of nine, with 34.4 seconds left. The Warriors offense was back at it when Tanner found Brown for a gain of 21 yards. Jaden Jordan would block Craze's field goal to end the half.
Trindon Flenoury and Matthew Jenkins got to Mattic Simmers for a loss of 9 yards with 9:48 left in the third. Just eight seconds later, Simmers goes for a big 21-yard run to give the Presidents a much-needed first down. The drive ended without any points as the Warriors' defense stiffened.
Tanner picked up 19 yards but was knocked out of the game after being hit. Trey Remy hit Broiwn for a gain of ten, with 3:51 showing on the clock. Ciroli picked up 14 yards when his team was facing a 2nd and fifteen to go, with 3:21 left in the quarter. Kolten Sibrel sacked Remy, ending the quarter.
Feliciano found Jackson Payne for a gain of 42 yards, with 11:50 left in the game. Brown picked off a pass in the end zone to end the Presidents' drive. Remy hit Brown for a 26-yard touchdown, making this a 27-6 game.
Marion Harding would score the final points of the game with 18.4 seconds left when Feliciano found Reggie Walker for a 43-yard score. Walker broke a tackle or two and used some nice moves to find pay dirt.
