Please post a small recap of last season with something like a big game you had, something about a certain game, something from a bus ride to or from the game, or something that sticks out from a practice.

Last season had a ton of positives it was my favorite season of all time but, it also has some of the lowest of lows. We had two bus rides home from Paulding, one was the only game we lost in the conference, the other was our last game of the season in the playoffs. Those bus rides will stick with me for a long time knowing how close we were to another historic season at Fairview.

You had one heck of a season last year. Over 85 catches and over 1,000 receiving yards with six interceptions. What are your personal goals for this coming season?

My personal goals are to continue to help Fairview trend in the right direction and do my best as a senior leader and help the young guys learn and get better. I would also love another First-Team All-State and to show more college coaches that I have what it takes.

In watching your highlights on Hudl it is easy to see that you are very shifty once you catch the ball, and you seem to have enough speed to break away from defenders and enough power to break tackles. Is there a college or pro receiver that you pattern your game after?

There isn’t exactly any one player that I model my game after, however if I had to choose someone that I’ve studied the most it would definitely be Doug Baldwin. He is one of the best route technicians I have witnessed and I think he is incredibly underrated.

What do you feel is the strongest part of your overall game?

I think the strongest part of my game is my ability to make people miss and my ability in the open field. I feel like whenever I have the ball there’s a way for me to find the end zone.

Watching you on defense you have a quick first step to the ball, and you look to read the field well. How much of this is film study and how much of this just GOD given talent?

Film study is huge especially in the defense we run. Our main coverage relies heavily on reading the routes coming and communicating with each other. When we study the film and rep it out in practice it helps tremendously with knowing pre snap what they might be doing in certain formations. My ability to drive up on the ball and make plays on shorter routes is definitely helped by my given ability and hard work I’ve put in.

Why should your number be called when the game is on the line?

I feel like I’m very dynamic with the ball in my hand and I find holes and openings that some people may not. I also have an ability to make my own gaps and break tackles. In the screen game I can get it and go in open space and down field I’m a guy that win the contested catch and win at the top of my route to get open.

What has been your biggest moment as an athlete?

My biggest moment was my Sophomore year in my first ever playoff game. Fairview had not made the playoffs for 3 straight seasons and went 2-8 my freshman year. In this playoff game I ended up scoring 4 first half touchdowns and had over 150 yards. We ended up winning the game pretty handedly.

What's been your most embarrassing moment as an athlete?

My most embarrassing moment is probably my freshman year hyping up my team before the first game to a bunch of my non football player friends. We then proceeded to lost the first game by about 40 points.

Who has been the best player that you have faced in a game, as well as the team he was on?

The best player I have played is probably Jalen Manz from Paulding.

Can you share with the readers some of the schools that are recruiting you, along with any offers you have?

There’s a good amount of schools I’ve been in contact with including Ashland, Indiana Wesleyan, Taylor, SVSU, Wittenberg, and UW LaCrosse. My current offers are Ohio Northern, Adrian, and Heidelberg!

Who is the one teammate that is going to off at practice if things are not going well?

Someone that would go off is Brody Williams, he would definitely yell and try to get everyone to straighten up.

After the season is over if you earn an invitation to any of the all-star games will you play?

I would most likely go play in an All-Star if I was invited.

What is the one sport you will not watch?

I would say soccer, but with the World Cup I have recently been watching it so with that said I’ll go with tennis.

Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?

I like to lift, cook, and play video games.

If you could talk to any athlete for one hour who are you talking to?

I would talk to Jaxon Smith-Njigba since he’s my favorite player currently, and I would try to learn from him.
