Please
post something from last season that sticks out to you. It can be from a
game, practice, or something funny on the bus ride to or from the game.
Any moment that sticks out to you.
Winning
sectionals at Western. Our school hasn’t won a sectional for 23 years.
It was a special moment for the team, coaches, school and community.
What is the best part of being a student athlete at Twin Lakes High School?
Having good relationships with the coaches and giving back to younger students at camps.
What is the toughest part of being a quarterback?
Being
QB has a lot of responsibility to not only know my job but what
everyone else should be doing and then executing the game plan even when
things break down.
What type of defense do you like facing the most? Explain
I
like facing both Zone & Man defense. We have a lot of athletes at
our skill positions and a great line to give me time to find my guys. We
take our shots and love to keep pressures on the defense.
What do you believe is the strongest part of your game?
Extending
plays with pocket movement or when I break the pocket. I am accurate
throwing on the run and can put pressure on the defense with my feet.
With this being your final high school football season, have you found yourself preparing differently than you have in the past?
No.
The process and preparation is the same. The goals are higher. The
level of where we are as a football team is higher. The expectation is
higher. But the work is the work, we are locked in to finish the job.
Baseball or football: Which one do you feel you are better at?
I
am better at football. I have had a productive high school career in
baseball and I love playing with my guys. But my football is 1st in my
heart.
What has been your biggest moment as an athlete?
I
have two special moments. My freshmen year, our baseball team won
regional and in Semi State were one game away from going to state. It
was tied 5-5 in the 6th and I got a hit with a runner at second base. We
didn’t end up winning, but we were so close to getting to state. And,
my junior year in the sectional title game at Western, I had two passing
TD’s and a rushing TD to help the team win the sectional title.
What are your personal goals for the season?
My personal goals are to improve on our record which was 10-3. I want to throw for 3000 yards and 35 TD’s.
What team goals will you set?
Our Team Goals are to Win Sectionals and Win Regionals.
After the season is over, if you get an invitation to play in the North vs. South game, will you play?
Absolutely,
It would be an honor to represent our school in that game. There is a
lot of history in that game and would be a great opportunity to
represent our community.
Do you feel that you and your teammates are role models to the younger kids that come and watch you play?
Yes,
the community is very supportive. We have a lot of support from the
kids at our middle school and elementary school. We read to the kids in
elementary every week during season. The kids are always in the tunnel
as we take the field to give us high-fives and hand shakes before and
after games. The last few years more and more kids are out there
supporting us. It means a lot to the team.
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Steak and Spaghetti & Oil.
What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas. Presents & Time with family on break to celebrate the season.
What scares you?
Snakes.
