Does
the high expectations that come from playing for St. X bring extra
pressure to you? Explain:
The standard is excellence. Our coaches do a
great job of making sure we are well-prepared to execute the game-plan.
So on Fridays we can play fast and have fun
What are your personal goals for the season?
Have a positive impact on the game and do whatever my team needs.
What goals will you set for the team?
Win the GCL-South. Play our best ball headed into the playoffs.
Can you share with the readers some of your responsibilities are playing in the slot?
Go in motion, make tough catches, get yards after the catch & block!
How did you get in be a kick returner?
I came out before practice and fielded kicks for the punters & kickers. I kept working at it and over time the coaches trusted me enough to put me back there.
What are you doing during the off-season to improve your game?
I do something 6 days a week. My focus has been on getting more explosive, flexible, working on my technique, footwork, and sharping my skills as a receiver.
What do you feel is the strength of your game?
I am a complete back. I can run, block and catch. But it’s my vision, lateral quickness, football IQ and versatility in the passing game that sets me apart from most backs.
What
was the biggest lesson that you learned from the Northwestern camp?
The
attention to detail in every drill and competition was noticeable.
What is something that you would like to do in a game but might never have the chance to?
It would be cool to throw a touchdown pass.
What is the toughest part of a St. X. practice?
Everything is a competition. We work hard and you get what you earn.
If the Browns do get their dome should the state finals be moved there?
Playing for a State Championship at the HOF was fun. Playing in the Browns stadium if they had a dome would be pretty sick.
Which road stadium is the toughest to play in, along with the thing that makes it so tough?
We play Elder at “The Pit” this year. Their fans bring the energy, and it’s a hostile environment. Those games are always crazy.
Have you watched any of the UFL games?
No, but I want to check out an Aviators game one day.
Where is the best local spot to grab a good meal?
Chipotle or a sports bars with good buffalo wings.
What was the last book that you read, along with the author?
The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon
