Columbus Aviators 24 Houston Gamblers 17


Columbus avenges their loss last week to Houston with a 24-17 win at Historic Crew Stadium. Jalan McClendon had a nice game, as his front line was able to keep their quarterback from being sacked. For the game, McClendon would go 20-26 with a touchdown, and more importantly, he threw zero picks. Antwane Wells had 3 catches, 21 yards, and one touchdown. Tay Martin caught all six balls thrown his way, getting 106 yards in the process. Overall nine different players caught at least one pass for Columbus. John Lovett (63 yards) and Zaquandre White (39 yards) each had a rushing touchdown. Six players had at least one rush in the win.

For Houston, three different players threw at least one pass. Taulia Tagovailoa went 6-10 for 65 yards and the only passing touchdown. Wide receiver Jontre Kirklin threw the only pick of the game. Marcus Major had the only rushing touchdown. He had just four carries and seventeen yards on the night. Lawrence Keys III had the only receiving score. He caught two balls good for thirty-eight yards.

Ryan Coe was 1-2 on his field goals for Columbus. He made a 48-yarder. John Hoyland made his only attempt for Houston, a 33-yarder.

Kenny Willekes was the leading Columbus tackler, with six overall. He had three solo tackles. For Houston, Anthony Hines III had a game-high 11 tackles, with seven solo tackles.

Former Buckeye Damon Arnette had two tackles for Houston.
