Please post something from last season, like a big game you had, something about a certain game, something from a bus ride to or from the game, or something that sticks out from a practice. Anything that sticks out to you.
I had an awesome game vs. Washington Courthouse. I had lots of pancakes, and I got player of the game.
What are you going to miss the most from playing high school football?
Playing football with my best friends
What were your feelings as you walked off of the field for the last time as a member of the Jackson football team?
I was happy that I got to enjoy all of these years with my teammates and all of the memories that I will remember forever.
What made you a good teammate?
I lead by example by working hard in the weight room and doing all the drills on the field to the maximum.
If you get an invitation to any of the statewide all-star games, will you play?
I probably would.
What was the biggest lesson that you learned from playing high school football?
High school football taught me toughness, mentally and physically.
What was the biggest win that you had in your high school football career?
Beating Wheelersburg junior year, we won with a last-second touchdown run; it was awesome.
Which loss hurt the most?
Definitely London. We were better than them, and we had them beat, but a 3rd quarter touchdown kickoff return and then, with 30 seconds on 4th and 9, they threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to win the game.
How would you describe your style of play?
Very aggressive, I want to punish the person in front of me every single play.
Who was the best player that you faced in a game, along with the team he was on?
Bishop Watterson’s defensive lineman—I don’t remember his name, but this year he won the D3 state championship MVP. He’s easily the best I’ve ever faced, and the closest I came to giving up a sack ever.
What is the toughest part of being a center?
Not having your snapping hand for the first second of the play
Why should a college coach recruit you?
Because I’m a tough, physical, and smart player
How is the recruiting process going?
It’s going pretty good; I had 2 Division 3 offers and 1 NAIA offer, and I have 2 visits coming up with D2 schools. Hopefully those will turn into offers as well.
Would you share with the readers some of the schools that you are hearing from?
Rio Grande, Bluffton, Muskingum, Wittenberg, Thomas More, and Walsh
What is your current favorite TV show?
Honestly, I don’t watch TV too often right now, but my favorite TV show of all time is Breaking Bad. I have watched the full show probably 5 times now.
What is your biggest fear?
Not being successful
Who are your role models?
My dad, he is a great guy and a hard worker who doesn’t quit at anything. Another one would be Jason Kelce; in my opinion, he is the best center of all time. When he played, I would always watch the Eagles just to watch him.
