Thank you, seniors.
Well, seniors, week ten is here, and I will guess most of you cannot believe this will be your final regular season football game. For many of you this will be the last time you put the pads on and walk onto the field, the last tackle you will make, and some of you will never run for another touchdown or catch another pass.
This week, starting with practice, take a few seconds and reflect on the ride.
When you get to the stadium school on Friday, make sure you take it all in. Hug a teammate, shake a coach's hand, and let them know just how much they mean to you and how much you appreciate them.
As you are walking to the field, take a look around, take everything in that you see, and let the fans know that they are a big reason for the ride. As you head to the field for the last time, the words play every play like it is your last because when the fat lady sings and the clock hits zero, the ride that felt like it started yesterday will be passing the finishing line for the last time.
Once the game is over, stay on the field for an extra minute or two. Winning or losing might not mean so much after this one because there won't be a next for many of you. Enjoy being out there for the last time, and then head back to the locker room and start preparing for what comes next.
To all of you seniors that I have watched play, thank you for the good times I have had at your games.
