Linden McKinley 40 Centennial 0
I am using the roster Coach Fort from Centennial sent to me, and for Linden McKinley, I am using the Hudl roster and MaxPreps.
The Panthers took the ball. 38 yards in 6 plays with the drive ending on a Davell Brock pass to Emmanuel Towns, who was wide open to make this a 6-0 game. After Towns raced in for the two-point conversion, the score was 8-0 with 6:57 left in the opening quarter.
Jeffery Harris sacked Kaleb Jenkins for a loss of five, with 4:47 showing on the clock. The Stars were forced to punt the ball away; on the punt, the Panthers mishandled the ball, and making the recovery for the Stars was Cardea Moore, with 3:36 left in the quarter. Brock made a very easy pick on Stars pass, with 3:14 showing on the clock. Facing a third and sixteen, Brock shaked and baked his way to a 16-yard gain to move the chains.
The Panthers' drive continued into the 2nd quarter, where Brock again used his feet, picking up 11 yards to give the Panthers a first and ten at the Starts 29-yard line. The Stars' defense got to Brock for a loss of twelve when Dominic Winton-Jackson and Romell Rogers got to the multi-dimensional quarterback. Brock shook off the sack with a 28-yard leaping touchdown pass to Towns, making this a 14-0 game, with 10:17 left in the half.
With 8:27 showing on the clock, the Stars elected to go for it at their own 27-yard line, and the Panthers defense was up to the task as they stopped Jenkins a half inch short.
One play later, Brock found Cornelius Ulmer for the 29-yard touchdown with Ulmer making a leaping catch. Towns ran in the two-point conversion try to make this a 22-0 game, with 8:23 left in the half.
Jenkins was picked off by Jaron Sims with 7:59 showing on the 2nd quarter clock. One play later Chris Caldwell raced in for the score, making this a 28-0 game.
Jenkins found Elijah Marshall for a 37-yard completion. The Panthers' defense responded with Kenneth Kellam getting Cole Marcum for a loss of two. Right after that, Kameron Gather got Jenkins for a loss of four.
With 3:01 left in the half, Brock hit Marshall Copeland for a 53-yard score on a play where Copeland stopped, turned around, and waited for the ball before taking off for the score to make it 34-0 with 3:01 left in the half.
Copeland ended the half with a pick.
With the running clock starting in the third quarter, the Panthers started what would be a 10-play, 80-yard drive that went into the final quarter to take a 40-0 lead. Jeremy Head had a nice 15-yard run before Calwell finished the drive off on a 4-yard run.
With less than three minutes left in the game, two unsportsmanlike penalties were called, one on each team. The refs came together and called the game. As the refs were talking, the Linden staff walked their team off of the field. The Stars players stayed on their sideline as the staff talked to them.
