What makes you a good teammate?

My respect for other teammates, my hard work and dedication, and lifting my teammates up during hard times.

What was the highlight of the 2024 season?

The highlight of my 2024 season was definitely the 42-yard free kick Coach Daniel Barker had me working on all week before we played that Friday night. For those that don’t know, a free kick happens after receiving a fair catch. Your team can choose to kick a field goal off a kickoff tee from where the fair catch was received. It’s very rarely used in football now.

But I did do it. I made a 42-yard free kick, and it made my season!

What was the toughest part of the 2024 season?

The hardest part of the 2024 season was probably finding out that my best friend from my old school had taken his own life. I found out on a Thursday night after the walk through. But I prayed, and I pushed through it and played for him for the rest of the season.

Why should a college coach recruit you?

A college coach should recruit me because I’m more dedicated than any other kicker or punter in the world.

From our first interview to this one, our third, how have you grown as a player?

I’m more mentally tough, I’ve improved my skill, and I am way more consistent, especially from 45 yards and in. I can kick touchbacks now, and I can kick off the ground with no field goal tee.

If you could take the East Carter game and move it to any stadium in the country, where are you playing that game?

I would be playing that game at West Carter High School. Our field, our fans, our atmosphere, our mud pit!

As a kicker, is there a college kicker or pro kicker you try and pattern your kicking style after?

No, not at all. Never have, never will.

What has been your biggest moment as a high school football player?

42-yard field goal/free kick

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned from playing sports?

Everything takes time.

What is your process for staying calm and focused during high-stakes moments?

Walking. Walking the sideline, I have no idea why, but it helps keep me calm. I sometimes will walk, then sit down and pray. Then go kick in my net to stay loose.

How do you handle criticism or negative feedback?

Use it as motivation to improve.

Could you share with the readers some of the colleges you are hearing from?

KCU, Morehead State University, Eastern Kentucky University, Lindsey Wilson, and Western Kentucky University.

What scares you?

Heights scares for sure.

Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?

Working out, fishing, hunting, and hanging out with my girlfriend, Haley Menix.

Did you watch any of the spring football games from the UFL?

Yes, some.
