Please post a small recap of last season with something like a big game you had, something about a certain game, something from a bus ride to or from the game, or something that sticks out from a practice.
I would have to say one of my favorite things about Friday night is walking out of the locker room with my teammates and the bleachers being filled and there are fireworks in the sky and loud music playing. There is no better feeling than that!!
With this being your final high school football season, are you approaching the season differently than you have in the past? Explain
Every year I come into the season with high expectations of our team and try my hardest to prepare for that season. But this year is my last shot at winning a state championship, so I feel that I’ve been pushing my teammates a lot harder!!!
What have you accomplished during the off-season to better your game?
I have gained a good amount of muscle weight, and I’ve increased my speed a good amount!!!
From your freshman year to today, how have you grown as a player?
I’ve grown with my ability to lead my team and take control of the offense!! Also, my confidence has increased a lot!!
What makes you a good teammate?
What makes me a good teammate is that I set high expectations for my teammates. I also push them every day at practice to become better than what they were yesterday!! Also, I really try to push them to get extra work outside of practices.
Why should a college coach recruit you?
A college coach should recruit me because I’m everything you can ask for in a quarterback!! I can make any throw on the field, and I can extend plays when needed! I also am a STUDENT athlete!! I take my work in the classroom very seriously. I currently have a 3.7 GPA. Also, when I’m on the field, I make everyone else around me better.
What was the highlight of the 2024 season?
I do not have one specific highlight from the 2024 season. All year is just amazing. I love going out Monday-Thursday for practices and the game day on Friday. Then waking up early Saturday morning to go lift and watch film!!!
What was the toughest part of the 2024 season?
The toughest part would have to be round 2 of the playoffs. We lost a game that we definitely should not have. That game puts a chip on all of our shoulders for this year!!!
Would you rather start your season with your rival or end the regular season with them?
I would like to start out with them!!! This is because I want that first game to set the tone for the rest of the season!!
How do you handle criticism?
I try to stay very calm!! Try to reassure my teammates that we are okay and that we will be good.
Can the band, fans, and cheerleaders get you fired up before or during the game?
Most definitely!!! I love the atmosphere of Friday night lights!!
Biggest lessons that you are learning?
The biggest lesson that I’ve learned lately is to just put my full trust in Jesus. That goes with not just football but with everything!!
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
I would have to make meatloaf.
Have you gone to a Florence Y'alls baseball game?
No, I have not.
What is your favorite animal?
A dog
