Please post a small recap of last season with something like a big game you had, something about a certain game, something from a bus ride to or from the game, or something that sticks out from a practice.

Last year against Steel High in the district playoffs, I was asked to play middle backer on Monday and got a forced fumble on the opening drive that we later scored on a screen with me making a big block at receiver.

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Upper Dauphin High School?

At Upper Dauphin we’re thankful enough to be surrounded with great people within the school, the community, and our team. Everyone truly cares about everyone here, and we’re really developing a culture that allows us to play to our full potential and be supported the right way through it.

What was the highlight of the 2024 season?

It was definitely beating Camp Hill at Camp Hill when I had 2 sacks on back-to-back plays and ran the same play 18 times in one drive to get the game-winning drive in the 4th quarter.

What will the 2025 team have to do to improve on the 5-6 record from last season?

Last year we definitely had the talent to make a state run, and the guys were there, but we were mentally weak as a team, and as harsh as it sounds, we lost every close game in the 4th quarter, and this year we all are pushing a culture to be mentally tough and to get through hard things without complaining and just preaching mental toughness overall.

What was the toughest part of the 2024 season?

It was definitely losing to Line Mountain at Line Mountain 33-32. We had the lead for the majority of the game, and once the 4th quarter hit, like I said earlier, it all went wrong, and we allowed them to score and take the lead, and we didn’t have an answer for it.

As a high school football player, what has been your biggest moment on the field?

My biggest moment was probably when we were down a touchdown late in the game at Juanita, and I blocked a punt that got us the ball on the 25, but we sadly couldn’t punch it in to win the game.

DE/TE/FB—which of those positions do you feel you are best at? Explain

I’m definitely better at DE than all of them. I’ve been playing DE since I was in 3rd grade, and I’ve watched a lot of good DE play the game when I was a water boy at Williams Valley when my dad was the head coach there. I feel I have a big impact in my hands, and I can change almost every play if I play it right.

Of the three positions listed in the question above, which one is the toughest to prep for?

It’s definitely TE because you have to watch how the outside linebackers play for your run plays and the defensive ends, and then you have to know if the team plays man or zone and when their coach calls it and what zone they play and where their holes are in the zone and how far the safeties line up and who has the tight end in man.

What makes you a good teammate?

What makes me a good teammate is my ability to tell you the things you don’t want to hear because if you’re doing something wrong on the field or in life in general, I’m going to tell you how I feel about it out of love for my teammate so that he can improve himself. Another thing that makes me a good teammate is that I lead by example, and I would say I inspire others to work harder and to be better people by the way I carry myself and act towards others.

How do you get over a bad game?

How I get over a bad game is to prep twice as hard for the next game as I did the week before, and I’m one to dwell and think constantly about a bad game, so for the next game I’m guaranteed to have a good game.

If things are going poorly in practice, who is the first player to sound off, letting the team know it stops now?

I would definitely say it’s the whole team. If we mess up a bad play, it’s multiple guys saying we have to get our stuff together, and the next play we usually run a nice play. It’s the mental part of the game I was talking about previously. As a team this year, we’re going to try our absolute best to be more mentally tough and disciplined.

What is the worst weather you have played in?

I would say James Buchanan my freshman year was the worst weather we played in because not only did it dump the whole day, but it was also the homecoming game, so that makes it extra bad.

Where should the state finals be held?

I like Cumberland Valley's field a lot, and I like how they decide to have it at a high school field rather than Beaver Stadium.

What is your favorite home-cooked meal?

My grandma's mashed potatoes and meatloaf

What is the one sport you will not watch?

I will never sit down and watch cricket. Not my cup of tea.

What is your favorite holiday?

Definitely Halloween!
