With this being your final high school season, have you found yourself preparing any differently during the off-season?
Yes, I have been hitting the weight room hard, and I have found out recently I have torn my meniscus, so I am trying to get as healthy as I can for my football season.
What are your personal goals for the 2025 season?
I want to make all-conference, and as a team, I want to win the sectional. It's been a goal every year, and also, I want to beat Centerville, our rival.
What are the goals you are setting forth for your team?
To win a sectional, I know we have the talent and heart to do it, but we haven’t, so it is the biggest goal for the 2025-2026 season.
What will you miss the most from the 2025 class?
The players, I grew up playing with them since 3rd and 4th grade, so not playing with them is going to be weird.
Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team he played for?
Shea Hollendoner is a freshman. In his first year, he was one of the best players I have ever faced. He is quick and fast off the ball and plays low. I can’t wait for a rematch vs. him at tackle and to end this year.
What is the toughest part of practice?
The toughest part at practice was going against Charlie Shaffer, Kale Hansen, and Kameron Crawford. Going against them all the time is a tough challenge, but it makes me a better player and a better athlete.
What is your favorite part of being a high school student-athlete?
My favorite part about being a student athlete would be the experience in sports and school. The experience I have had in sports is unmatched to anything else.
What is the toughest part of being a student-athlete?
Staying up with my grades would be the hardest thing about being a student athlete, and while holding a job makes it hard to be an athlete,
Offensive line or defensive line: Which one do you enjoy playing the most?
I love playing offensive line mainly because it's one of the few spots in football where you can physically assault someone and get away with it, which makes o-line the best.
How important is it to you to gain an invitation for the North vs. South game?
I think that would be a great goal to have, but it’s not my main priority. I want to have a winning season and win the sectional.
Which game are you looking forward to the most this season? Explain
Centerville game: It’s the most hyped game in Wayne County. Northeastern vs. Centerville has been a bitter rivalry for a while now. We are 2-1 the past 2 years, looking to make it 3-1.
If you are hearing from any colleges, could you name some of them?
None right now.
What scares you?
Life scares me because life is a constant battle and struggle every day, and it changes every day; no two days are the same.
What are your favorite and least favorite types of music?
My favorite is rock, 90s country, and a little bit of rap. My least favorite is pop country.
Who are your role models?
My number one role model is Jesus Christ, the man that I look up to the most when I’m in need. Another role model is my father. As I’ve gotten older, I have seen my dad work hard every day of his life and still manage to take care of our family. These are my 2 biggest role models.
