Post a small recap of last season with personal highlights and any other big moments you have and/or memories you have from last season, whether it be a game, the bus ride to or from the game, or any other thing that sticks out.
I had some great friends and teammates in the class ahead of me, and my class is a very tight group with less than 10 players playing football. We had many hard-fought games that came down to the wire and managed to win some and lose some. Our record doesn’t define us because we are such a small school playing in a tough conference. The MOAC has very talented teams and players, and there was never a game where it was already won before the game was played.
With this coming season being your senior season, are you preparing differently than you have in the past? Explain
We got a new head coach this year, and we also lost a class that contributed extremely to our roster. We need to fill those gaps and prepare our younger guys ready to play on a varsity football field.
What are your goals for the season?
My personal goals are to make All-Ohio, and I want to help my teammates become better players.
What goals are you setting for your team?
A goal that I will be setting is to make the playoffs and win our first playoff game since 2020.
What was the highlight of the 2024 season?
In June, we played at the Ohio State University practice football fields for a 7v7 tournament. Our division 5 school made it to the final eight teams, knocking off Winton Woods and Justin Hill.
What was the toughest part of the 2024 season?
Losing to rivals and knowing that I would never play with the class of 2025 ever again.
What has been your biggest moment as an athlete?
My sophomore year during week 7, I scored my first touchdown on a varsity field. A few minutes later, I scored a second touchdown. That feeling was amazing and something I will never forget.
What makes you a good teammate?
I hold my teammates accountable and help them whenever they need it. I invite my teammates to get in extra work on the field whenever we do not have any sort of team practices or workouts.
How do you get over a bad game?
It is frustrating after a bad game, but as a leader on a team, I know that it is important to keep my head up. I am there to support my teammates, and together we pick ourselves up and use it as fuel and motivation to get better.
Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team he played for?
The best player I have ever faced was definitely Bodpegn Miller from Ontario High School. He was extremely hard to tackle and hard to get around. He is now playing at The Ohio State University as a wide receiver.
Why should your number be called when the game is on the line?
I am very good under pressure. I am confident in myself in making plays when it matters. When I'm on a field, I am locked in and block out any distractions. Clutch moments don’t affect how I play; I play the same way every single down.
If you are invited to play in any of the all-star games after the season, will you?
Yes, I love to compete against the best, and that would be a lot of fun for me.
Would you share with the readers some of the colleges you are hearing from?
Ohio Northern, Ohio Wesleyan, Mount St. Joseph, Denison, and Wooster.
What is your favorite type of music?
It would definitely be hip-hop/rap. I have been listening to that genre of music since I was a little one. I don’t listen to any other genres of music, to be honest.
Where is the best local spot to grab a pizza?
Tubbies is definitely an underrated place to grab some pizza. If you haven’t tried it, you need to come down to Marion and try it for yourself.
What is your favorite sport to watch?
Boxing is my favorite sport to watch because it is amazing to see how much work these fighters put in to get ready and fight for minutes upon minutes.
