Manchester defeats West Holmes 54-43


 

Manchester and West Holmes were tied at four early in the first; from there, Manchester scored eleven straight to end the first quarter to lead 15-11. The 2nd quarter was more of the Panthers on the prowl, outscoring the Knights 18-8 to lead 33-12 at the half. Manchester had just five turnovers in the half while West Holmes had sixteen.

Both teams scored just nine points in the third, as the refs let both teams be very physical. In the fourth quarter, West Homes scored 22 points, with the Panthers getting 12 points.

For the game, West Holmes, who had just four players score, got a game-high 21 from Cooper Maltarich and 17 from Nate Sprang. Sparang and 6-7 Freshmen Quincy Camacho each had 8 rebounds.

For Manchester, Malachi Cintron paced the way with 11 points. Jace Speedy and Brady Voros

chipped in with 8 points. Blaise Donatelli led the team with 8 boards.

Manchester 15-45 on 2-point field goals

West Holmes 9-21 on 2-point field goals

Manchester had the edge on rebounds. 40-31,

Total turnovers were 16 for Manchester and 23 for West Holmes.
