Northridge Vikings escape Lakewood Lancers 42-37

Hebron, Ohio— On Friday night the Northridge Vikings came calling on the Lakewood Lancers. For the Vikings, they were seeking their fifth win of the season, while the Lancers were hoping to gain just their third win of the season.

The Vikings would lead after one quarter 13-9, behind 8 points from Jake Davis. Davis would total a team-high 13 points on the night. The Vikings outscored the Lancers 116 in the 2nd quarter. The Lancers would pass the ball 10 times or so on each possession and usually settled for one shot as the Vikings seemed to dominate the boards.

The third quarter with the Vikings leading 36-23. Both teams would pass around a lot before taking a shot. For the Vikings it made sense, but for the Lancers it was head-scratching, being they were behind by double digits.

In the final frame the Lancers never hurried at all but still cut the lead to three at one point before losing by five. The Vikings never seem to panic even though they were ice cold during the quarter.

Dylan Chambers had 12 points for the Vikings, and he and Avis were the only two Vikings in double figures. For the Lancers, they too had two players in double figures. Troy Martindale, 15, and Stephen Slocum, 11 points.
