Jake Davis

Northridge

Forward/Small Forward and TE/LS/DE

2025

6’3, 220

Awards won or earned: Football - Honorable mention LCL and 2nd Team all-region and OPY for our team

What are your goals for the 2024-2025 basketball season?

Defend our home court and shut up all the haters who think we won’t be as good as our last couple of years.

What has been your biggest moment on the court?

Winning the LCL my sophomore year

What has been your lowest moment on the court?

Losing to Johnstown at home this year

Who is the best player you have ever faced in a basketball game?

I faced Sam Johnson my junior year in the state tournament, and he was probably one of the best players I have ever faced.

What is your favorite basketball drill to do in practice?

My favorite drill is guard/big breakdown, and us bigs do post moves live.

What is the best part of playing high school sports?

The competition and also the lifelong friendships you develop through sports

What is the toughest part of playing high school sports?

The toughest part is when you get into that fourth quarter of a game and you’re tired and beat up, and you just have to push through the pain mentally.

What were your feelings as you walked off the field for the last time as a member of the Northridge Vikings football team?

It was one of the saddest moments of my life. I had created so many great memories being a part of the team, and it will always be a part of my life that I treasure.

What is your biggest memory as a Northridge football player?

I think my biggest memory would be playing our first game in our new stadium.

Which win (football) meant the most?

Beating Newark Catholic at White Field meant the most because we hadn’t beaten them in a long time.

Which loss hurt the most?

Losing to Heath on senior night. We went into halftime feeling good, and it was tied 22-22. The win would have been awesome to get, not only because it was senior night, but they had killed us the last couple of years.

What has been the best and worst part of the football recruiting process?

The best part has been going on game-day visits and getting to experience a college game from more of the players perspective.

The hardest part is finding ways to contact coaches; then it’s really a waiting game to see if they respond, which is out of your control.

Could you name some of the schools that you are hearing from, along with any offers you have?

Offers: Wheeling, ODU, Denison, Bluffton

Hearing from Ashland, Toledo, OU, Wilmington, Mount Union, ONU, Robert Morris, and Miami OH

If you get invited to play in the Licking County vs. Muskingum all-star game or any of the other all-star games, will you?

Yes

What is your favorite class or subject?

Math/AP Calculus

What scares you?

I think what scares me the most is choosing a college and then deciding what I want to study, because both will have major impacts on my life.

What is your dream job?

My dream job would be being some kind of engineer (I’m not sure what kind yet) and getting to coach my kids in their sports.
