(Basketball)Granville 62 Whitehall 48

Tonight at Graville High School, the Blue Aces hosted the Whitehall Rams. Heading into this one, Granville was (4-2) according to Hudl.com, and the Rams came in at 3-5.

This one started out with a lot of hand checking and body bumping, with each team appearing to try and get under the skin of their opponent. As the game wore on, it really looked like the Blue Aces handled things very well, while the Rams never were able to get into a rhythm as the frustration showed more and more as the game went on, and the coach for the Rams picked up a technical foul as he seemed to almost explode over a call or non-call. In all fairness, the coach regained his composure after the T.

Granville would lead after one 18-11. The lead seems to slowly grow as the quarter went along. In the second quarter, Granville led 28-20, surviving a little early run by the Rams. In the second half, the Rams trailed 14 after three quarters, 45-31. The Rams cut the lead to five at one point but seemed to fall apart soon after as the Blue Aces defense hounded anyone who touched the ball and seemed to blanket the Rams stud, Reggie Bagley. Bagley would look frustrated at times and then make a big shot only to be frustrated again and again. The kid still found a way to total 16 points on the night. He got the most help from Daevon Brewer, who scored 9 points.

Granville would post the win 62-48, with Charlie Wright leading the way with 19 points. His biggest help came from Carson Murphy with 14 points. Both Murphy and Wright had two three-pointers.
