What are you going to miss the most from the 2025 class?
Ima going to miss some of the bonds we created, like my guy Levi Estep; he’s a dog and was like a big brother to me. People like Jordan Kentrell just brought the energy.
Personally, what was your biggest moment during the 2024 season?
My biggest moment of the season had to be when I scored late against Grove City to bring the game tighter and us almost coming back and winning that one.
Which win meant the most this season? Explain
The win that meant the most to me personally had to be the central crossing win. That’s a team we never beat, and a rivalry that has a lot of history behind it, and most of our coaches played for Central, so that win felt good.
Which loss stung the most?
The loss that hurt the most had to be the Big Walnut game. That was a hard loss to move forward from, but we learned a lesson that football is a game of inches, and we all are working in the offseason so we never get that feeling again.
Who was the best player that you faced on the field this season?
The best players that I faced off against had to be people on my own team, like Mikey Slaughter and Emoni Smith, two dogs that were killing their competition. Competing with those guys every day made me so much better physically and mentally.
Which team was the best, along with the reason you felt they were so good?
The team I thought was the best was Big Walnut. I felt like they worked together as a team, and you could tell each one of their players cared for each other.
What were your goals heading into the season?
My goals heading into the season were to flat-out win and do something the Westland program has not done in a long time. Some people may say my goals aren’t personal; I’d rather live the moments up with my brothers than be shining by myself, and that’s that.
Which road stadium had the best overall atmosphere?
Westerville South had a good atmosphere, but I gotta give it to Big Walnut; that game was jumping for sure.
What was the most shocking aspect of the season?
The most shocking part of the season to me is how fast it ended. As a team, we were only focused on week-by-week opponents; we never looked forward, and it was just a grind day in and day out, and the season was just over like that. It went really fast.
What was the toughest aspect of the 2024 season?
The toughest aspect of the season and something I had to work on is playing unselfish ball; for example, some players may think, “Man, I’m not getting the ball; I’m just going to take this play off.“ Games are not won like that, and that’s what our coaches preach to us, and you saw the results from prior Westland teams.
What makes you a good teammate?
What makes me a good teammate is that I’m just a cool, chill person that you can come talk to and joke around with, and as a team we bonded and had fun while knowing when it’s time to get serious and win.
What is your favorite class or subject?
My favorite subject gotta to be math.
What is your go-to snack?
Go-to snacks: Reese's for sure.
Outside of sports, what do you do for fun?
For fun I just chill with my girlfriend and some of my teammates and just live in the moment.
