What were your goals as you entered your freshman season?

Entering my freshman season, my goal was to play varsity. I wanted to learn as much as I could from my coaches and upperclassmen to get better.

What has been the high light of the 2024 season?

The biggest highlight for me so far for the 2024 season was getting my first sack at the varsity level. It was in week 4 against a tough opponent—Hopewell High School.

What has been the most disappointing part of the 2024 season?

The toughest part of this season for me was losing to Central Valley. Although they are a good program, I believe we are better. That was a tough loss.

What has been the biggest adjustment for you this season compared to previous seasons? Explain

I believe the biggest adjustment for me was not relying entirely on my strength and size. I have always been one of the bigger players on my team, but now I’m playing against athletes 3-4 years older than me. To be a good varsity player, I needed to focus on my technique and football IQ.

Being a freshman playing on the Varsity team, do you feel any extra pressure as far as proving you belong?

I do feel like I have something to prove as a freshman playing varsity. I have never played with many of my current teammates, so I wanted to do my best to show them I belong.

D-end, running back, or tight end: Which of those positions do you feel you are best at?

I feel like I do my best work when I’m at the defensive end. I think my fast get-off and ability to read the plays help me be successful there.

Who has been the best team that you believe Beaver has faced this season, along with what things made them so good?

I believe that Central Valley was our toughest opponent so far. They have great chemistry and good communication between them.

Who is the best player that you have faced this season, along with the team he played on?

I’ve faced a lot of good players this year, but Jance Henry at Central Valley really impressed me.

What is the toughest part of a Beaver practice?

The toughest part of practice at the varsity level is meeting the high expectations set by our coaches.

What is your favorite part of practice?

My favorite part of practice is when we practice pass rushing because this is when I get to show what I’m best at.

What is the best part of your game?

The best part of my game is my ability to get to the quarterback. I achieve this by being quick off the line, aggressive, and using my hands well.

Which part of your game do you believe you have to work on the most?

On offense, I feel like I have to work on blocking as a tight end. On defense, I have to work on reading the run.

What is your favorite class or subject?

My favorite class is science. I would like to major in health sciences in college, eventually going into physical therapy, athletic training, or nursing.

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite meal is steak and my dad’s bacon cheddar mashed potatoes.

Who is your favorite athlete?

My favorite athlete is Kyler Murray because he shows that your size doesn’t matter and you can still do great things even when you’re being criticized.
