Franklin Wildcats act like the king of the jungle with a 34-0 shutout of Monroe

Franklin, Ohio- First, I want to say thank you to the Franklin coaching staff for finding me a seat in the pressbox, and to everyone I spoke to, thank you for your kindness.

The Franklin defense got things off to a good start when Braydon Isaacs got to Karson Marcum for a loss of 3 yards. Then it was a fumble recovery from Tucker Campbell that not only brought the Wildcats offense onto the field but brought the homeside crowd to their feet.

After getting on the field, the Wildcats offense, with their wishbone ways, used 9 plays to go 45 yards, with Isaacs chugging in from 3 yards out to put the Wildcats up 6-0. Tito Harrison was true on his conversion kick, making this a 7-0 game, with 6:27 showing on the opening quarter clock.

The Hornets offense would convert a third and seven when Marcum found Brylan Miltenberger for a gain of 14 yards. The Wildcats defense would respond when Marcum decided to throw again when Dawson Fitzpatrick did his best Gary Impression by picking the pass off.

Franklin would convert two third downs on the drive with Isaacs scrambling for 8 yards when needing six to move the chains, then it was Malachi Gipson racing for a 14-yard gain when six was needed again to move the chain. From there, the Hornets defense held strong and got their offense back onto the field without giving up any more points.

The highlight of the Monroe drive was a 21-yard catch from Brylan Miltenberger. From there, it was again the sting Wildcats having things their way as they clamped down without giving up any points.

A 16-yard run from Jordan Milligan got things going in the right direction for the home team. A 26-yard completion from Isaacs to Lincoln Clark set up a 1-yard Isaacs touchdown plunge to make this a 14-0 game as the teams prepared for halftime.

Isaacs found Clark for 15 yards on third and six, with 9:17 left in the third quarter. The 7-play, 60-yard drive came to an end with a 6-yard touchdown run from Campbell to make this a 21-0 game, with 7:08 showing on the clock.

With the PA System and scoreboard down, the next score came late in the third, with Isaacs trotting in from 29 yards out to make this a 27-0 game.

The final score of the game came on a 15-yard Issacs run, where he acted like Kenny "The Snake" Stabler by twisting and tunring his way downfield as the Hornets defense looked hypnotized from the movement, making this a 34-0 game.
