After many years, I finally made another trip to West Muskingum to take in a football game. Since I get asked a lot why I chose the game I did, here are the two most significant reasons. In no order it would mark my first time seeing Morgan play, and I told Carter Smith after our interview I would come and watch West Muskingum play.

Carter Smith made a pick on a pass thrown by Henry Davisson just 0:55 seconds into the game, and he took the ball back to the Morgan 24-yard line with a return of close to 15 yards. The promising drive resulted in no points. The Raiders' defense stood tall, resulting in a promising drive that yielded no points. as the Raiders' defense stood tall.

Davisson found a wide-open Eli Moore for a gain of 42 yards, but from there the offense would sputter, allowing the Tornadoes defense to get off the field. Noah Morrison found Hayden Wakefield for a big 20-yard gain with 6:00 left in the quarter. Morrison let the ball fly in the direction of Grady Dollings, who caught it and picked up 45 yards. The 7-play, 84-yard drive ended on a 3-yard run from Dente Tyson, making this a 6-0 game. After Brooks McCune nailed the P.A.T., we had a 7-0 game, with 4:27 showing on the clock.

On the last Morgan drive of the quarter, Hayden Roberts was huge for the West Muskingum defense; he forced a fumble that Morgan recovered, and he then swatted a pass away. Then with 0:48 seconds left in the quarter, Dominic Steveson got to Dre Milliron for a loss of 2 yards.

The West Muskingum defense continued flexing its muscle when Carter Smith and Cohen McConnel got to Mason Pauley for a 3-yard loss, with 11:44 left in the half. Smith forced a fumble from Davisson, and making the recovery for the Tornadoes was Cooper McKenzie at the 10:01 mark.

A 28-yard pass from Morrison to McConnel helped set up a 6-yard run from Malachi Davis that made this a 14-0 game, with 8:53 left in the half. The drive totaled 31 yards, taking 4 plays. The West Muskingum Line was having an easy time against the gritty Morgan Line, allowing their offense to easily move the ball.

6:41 was left in the half when Morrison connected with Smith for a nice gain of twenty-one. Davis had runs of 18, 11, and a 1-yard touchdown run, making this a 21-0 lead, with 5:05 left.

Emillo Casto got to Gage Roberts for a loss of 4 yards with 4:01 left in the half. The last big play of the half came when Robets found a wide-open Casen Foley for a gain of 73 yards.

This became a 27-0 game when West Michigan, facing a fourth and three, got a 29-yard touchdown pass from Morrison to Wakfield, who was wide-opened at the 9:48 mark of the third quarter.

McKenzie and Aiden Ankrom teamed up to sack Roberts for a loss of eight, with 9:05 left in the third. From there the West Muskingum defense quickly got their offense back on the field. And it took just three plays to go 33 yards to make this a 34-0 game. The score came on a 21-yard pass from Morrison to McConell, with 8:02 left in the quarter.

Roberts would be picked off by Wakfield, who took the ball to the house from 23 yards out, making this a 41-0 game, with 5:20 left.

The Tornadoes got a Morrison to Smith pass to end the quarter that total 26 yards. With the clock running, the fourth quarter brought just two plays of notice. First, it was a 23-yard field goal to give us the final score, 44-0. The last play was a fumble recovery by Ayden Harrison on a fumble from Roberts.
