Game Report/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy 46 Aiken 18

My 32nd game of 2026 took me back to Cincinnati to cover the Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy versus Cincinnati Aiken game. I, along with maybe 250 fans, took this game in. Stargel Stadium is such a great place to take a game in; it is always sad to me that each time I have been there, there are so few fans there that the place looks lonely.

Will Chadwell got things going for the Eagles with a tough eight-yard run just 0:53 seconds into the contest. Chadwell was at it again just a couple of minutes later when he busted loose for a gain of eleven. Facing a fourth and two at the two, the Eagles elected to go for it, and that decision turned out to be good, made by the touchdown throw from Nolan Lum to Zach Murphy, making this a 6-0 game. After George Fey nailed the P.A.T. kick that was held by Jaxson Renfroe, we had a 7-0 game, with 2:24 left in the quarter.

The Eagles offense lit the scoreboard up again at the 2:24 mark when Lum connected with Zach Murphy to close out a two-play, eighteen-yard drive for a fifteen yard score. After a Falcons penalty, the Eagles elected to go for two and that decision was made good when Andrew Ghabrial bullied his way into the end zone, giving us a 15-0 game, with 2:24 left in the quarter.

Deondre Jenkins hauled in an eleven-yard throw from Dwight Massey with 2:09 remaining in the quarter. Massey, just a freshman, hooked up with De'Andre Carr-Short, who shook free going sixty-five yards for the score. Demir Edwards was stuffed on the two-point conversion try, leaving this a 15-6 game, with 1:00 left.

With 8:00 left in the half, the Falcons faced a fourth and one where Deondre Jenkins eked out two yards to move the chains. Short brought in a pass for a gain of seventeen, with 6:47 left. Later on the drive, the Falcons faced a fourth and six on the Eagles' thirty-six-yard line and they again were able to convert with 4:37 left in the half, when Jenkins hit Short for twenty-six yards. Short is listed at 6-8, 185 pounds and is a nightmare for any player defending him. After Ben MacPherson threw Massey down for a loss of five, the Falcons responded with a ten-yard touchdown pass from Massey to Deondre Jenkins to make this a 15-12 game, with 3:14 showing on the clock.

On the ensuing Eagles drive, a fourth-and-two conversion run from Chadwell kept the drive alive. Lum found Zach Murphy for twelve yards to help set up a thirty-five-yard field goal from Fey to make this a 18-12 game, with thirty-five seconds left in the half.

Owen Clary got things going for the Eagles defense in the second half when he got to Massey for no gain, forcing the Falcons offense into a fourth and ten situation, with 10:57 left in the third.

On the Eagles' fourth play of their first drive in the second half, Chadwell made like former Bengals fullback Pete Johnson, going up the gut of the Falcons defense for a twenty-five-yard touchdown run, making this a 25-12 game.

Massey was picked off by Shep Layman to put the potent Eagles' offense right back on the field. Lum connected with Nate Holland for twenty-four yards, with 7:01 left in the quarter. A fifteen-yard run by Chadwell followed. A completion to Chadwell was fumbled into the end zone with Micah Hehman pouncing on it for the Eagles' score. After Fey nailed the P.A.T., we had a 32-12 game.

A Massey fumble was recovered by Caleb Millar, giving the Eagles the ball back, with 1:09 left in the third. A muffed snap led to Trey Noble losing eight yards when J'len Bates introduced himself to Noble. The quarter ended on Pedro Guimieras' run that went for a loss of five when Cartyr Harrison made a nice play for the Falcons.

The fourth quarter was interesting as you had two mothers of Aiken players, one in particular screaming and swearing at the Aiken coaching staff. An officer and another person, who was in charge, must have had to ask her to leave because things got really quiet after she headed away from the stands. 

Massey threw a pass that was tipped and then caught by Darian Jones to convert a fourth and none for the Falcons, with 10:06 left. After getting the ball back, the Eagles got a nice pass from Noble to Zach Murphy for fifty-two yards. Noble ended the five-play, eighty-five-yard drive with a ten-yard touchdown pass to Shep Layman, making this a 39-12 game.

Massey threw a pick six to Layman, who looked to score from about twenty-eight yard out to make this a 46-12 game.

The last play of the game showed that the Falcons had no quit in them, with Massey finding the dangerous Short for a sixty-three-yard touchdown to give us the final score of 46-18.
