Ironton High School 2012-2016
Ashland Paul Blazer, KY 2020-22
Rock Hill High School 2023-Present

Who are some of the coaches that you have learned the most from?

I try to absorb as much knowledge and every little small detail as possible from each coach that I have been surrounded by. I have been lucky to have played for some great coaches as well as work beside. Played for the legendary Bob Lutz and Mike Burcham. Coaching alongside of Tony Love at Ashland and Rock Hill was one of my best experiences,  he was full of knowledge, someone that I really look up to and appreciate more than words can describe.

In your opinion, what makes a good offensive lineman?

They have to be nasty and have a love for Violence! Playing in the trenches is not for the soft! It starts with that mentality! Then you sprinkle in of course some size and strength, that never hurts, lol. But having great feet, flexible hips, quick, violent hands. Add in a solid work ethic and the enthusiasm to want to learn and master the artwork of what it takes to be a violent technician!

Can you share with the readers some of what you are doing as the offensive coordinator?

I am working with the offensive line as their position coach then the last two seasons I have called the offense on Friday nights as well. I look forward to staying involved with our new staff to continue to advance and develop our offense into an even more dangerous group this upcoming season. I specialize in our run game coordination and blocking schemes as well as pass protection. Coach Wilds has been our skill player and passing attack leader. Looking forward to putting it all together in 2026.

In a perfect world, what type of offense would you run?

I love what we do now, power spread, several packages and different looks. There is so many wrinkles and variations that can be run off of our bread and butter. I believe in smash mouth football and taking what is yours but the RPO game and development of our passing game will add much more versatility. At the end of the day, I am an offensive lineman, and we love to run the ball and assert our dominance on people, but I love the artwork of being an offensive coordinator and learning all of the new variations that is out there now!

What type of defense is the toughest to make tweaks to ensure your offense is ready for it?

Every defense presents its challenges as well as tendencies and weaknesses. Good preparation takes care of a lot of challenges that you may face. But a team that will run multiple fronts and different looks can sometimes be hard to prepare for in the amount of time given for the week for high school boys. Were usually more concerned about the Jimmy's and Joe's across from us and favorable match ups.

What are three things that you expect of every player on the roster?

1. Commitment to excellence.  Don't go through the motions and settle for average. Work hard and be great.
2. Discipline. Do what you're supposed to do when you're supposed to do it. Apply it to all aspects of life.
3. Be coachable. Be willing to learn something new every day. The day you quit trying to learn will be the day that you quit growing.

Is it harder to teach an offensive lineman pass blocking or run blocking?

Pass protection... it truly is a form of art! The perfect mix of violence and technique. Offensive Lineman are some of the greatest athletes that get very little credit, to be smart enough to make decisions in a split second and then to stop moving pieces such as some of these great athletes that we see on the defensive lines and at Linebacker these days. You have to flawless in your technique.

What changes would you make to the playoffs?

I am fine with where we are at. Maybe rearrange the districts better. Some of the traveling that I have seen has been rough. Bring back playing at local colleges that may split the difference in travel after the 1st round.

Where should the state finals be held?

The state of Ohio is very fortunate to have the birthplace of football and the Hall of Fame in Canton, OH. It is a very prestigious place to play and visit. But at the same time, Columbus is the central location and The Ohio State University would be the best venue!

What do you believe as a coach the team will need to do better to have a deep playoff run?

Take the next step! We have won our 1st round games the last 2 seasons, it's time to break through that next milestone. I believe our dedication in the off season has been great, now we need to believe we can do it and go take care of business. Believe!

What in your eyes was the best and worst part of the 2025 season?

Just seeing our football program continue to grow at Rock Hill. The excitement around football! From our feeder programs at the youth level being dominant, our Middle School team being undefeated and our High School team making leaps, making noise, its a great time on the Hill!
The worst part is ending the season in the 2nd round the way that we did. Knowing that we are way better than how we played.

What goes on the grill if you are grilling out?

Rib eye Steaks! Chicken, burgers, anything!

Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?

I enjoy fishing and relaxing with my family.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?

We don't vacation a whole lot, I'd rather be at a ball field watching my kids play more than anywhere else! But I'm not a beach guy, put me somewhere in the mountains!
