Please
post something from last season that sticks out to you. It can be from a
game, practice, or something funny on the bus ride to or from the
game—any moment that sticks out to you.
I think once we finished
our rough stretch of really tough games we got together and figured out
ideas of what we can do to be better as a team. I love before we go out
to the field before the game my head coach Nate Brownrigg gets us all
huddled together on a knee holding hands and taking breaths to calm us
down which helps me out a lot. I will always love being in the locker
room with all the guys that I consider my brothers.
What are your goals for the season?
To get first team All-Ohio for LB, and get close to 200 tackles
What team goals will you set?
To win the MVL small school title
Can the fans, band, and cheerleaders get you pumped up before and during the game?
I think the energy from the fan base can really pump me up. It just gets me going and boosts me up.
How do you recover from a bad game?
I see what mistakes I have made as a player and a team leader and try my best to fix those mistakes
What is your game day routine?
I
like to get a blue gatorlyte and go to the goalpost and sit there and
listen to music and close my eyes and mentally prepare for the game.
What makes you a good teammate?
Helping
out my teammates and pushing them to be the best version of themselves.
Always encouraging them to push themselves through the hardest times.
Would you let the readers know some of your main assignments as a linebacker?
My
assignments are to read the guard of the offensive line and read them
based off their movement, if it’s a run I fill in the gap where our
defensive lineman aren’t, if it’s a pass I either drop high hole or go
to the hook/curl area depending on our coverage.
Turf or grass?
That’s
a great question, I like turf, but I also like grass if it’s taken care
of, and it’s not too rough, I have only played on one grass field in my
high school career.
When the game is on the line, why should your number be called?
Because
I have been under a lot of pressure in big games in football basketball
even when I played baseball my freshman year. Even in track as well. I
have been in the state meet for track and the state tournament for
basketball, so I know how to control pressure and make it into a good
thing.
If the Browns get the dome should the state finals be moved there?
I
honestly don’t think so, even though it would be nice for weather and
stuff I think I’d rather play at Tom Benson hall of fame stadium just
because I’ve always wanted to play their ever since I’ve watched a game
there in the winter. I always have wanted to play a snow game and I have
once but it really wasn’t that snowy.
Would you share with the readers some of the colleges that are recruiting you?
I
currently have 3 division 2 offers from Tiffin, West Liberty, and
Findlay. I have Division 1 interest from Youngstown State, Ohio, and
Kent State. Other colleges I have interest from are Walsh, Ohio
Dominican, Buffalo, Eastern Illinois.
What’s the best and worst part of the recruiting process?
The
best part is hearing that they are interested in you, or you have gotten
the offer. The worst part is figuring out which one you would want to
call home for 4–5 years of your life.
Who are your role models?
My
father has always been a role model to me as he’s been my best friend
and a father all in one. He is the reason why I have so much success in
this sport and why I play this sport
What is one food you refuse to eat?
I will refuse to eat Pickles and tomatoes
What is your favorite sports movie?
Definitely The Waterboy.
