(Softball/Game Report) Johnstown 8 Lakewood 2

 

The Lancers jumped out in front 1-0 on an Averie Adams solo homer in the bottom of the first. The Johnnies tied it up in the third. Both teams added a run in the fourth and from there in was all Johnstown as they would score the last six runs, with three in the fifth and three in the seventh. The Lancers crippled themselves with four errors. The Johnnies hurt themselves with two errors as neither team had a great day in the field. The Johnnies out hit the Lancers eight to six.

Adams led the Lancers offense with 2 hits and 1 RBI. Riley Williams had a hit, and she drove in the other Lancers run. Cory Redman, Katie Tolliver, and Jaycie Montie each registered one hit in the loss. For the Johnnies, Emma McGeehan had 3 hits and she scored 3 runs. Jenna Hochanadel had 3 RBI and a hit. Addy Zak a hit and she drove in two. Abigail Wood and Violet Wentzel each drove in a run. Wentzel had 2 hits and Wood one.

Lucia Kuhn went the distance for the Johnnies, giving up just two bases on ball, while striking out eleven. She seemed to blow the fast ball by the lancers and then use something off speed keeping the Lancers off balance and maybe a little frustrated.
