(Softball/Game Report)Groveport 13 Hamilton Township 6

 

 Hamilton Township took the early 1-0 lead when a runner scored on a wild pitch. In the bottom of the first a single and an error tied this game up at one. Laylianna Wentz single a run in to put Groveport 2-1 after one inning of play. 

A single from Nahla Hodge made it 3-1 Groveport. That was followed by a Past ball allowing a run to score for a 4-1 Groveport lead. Katani Resendes hit into a fielders choice but got an RBI for her effort and a 5-1 lead.  

Hamilton Township got busy in the third with a double from Logan Baker driving in a run to make this a 5-2 game. An error made this a 5-3 game. A double steal made this a 5-4 game and then a pass ball allowed the tying run to score.  Kyleigh McKnight double to put Hamilton Township up 6-5.

In the bottom of the third Demiyah Johnson singled driving in the tying run. Johnson would swipe second and on the same play score on a poor throw from the catcher making this a 7-6 game. 

Groveport score again in the seventh on an error to make this an 8-6 game. Wentz drove in another run with a fielders choice to make this a 9-6 game. 

 In the bottom of the fifth a triple by Hodge drove in a run making this a 10-6 game. In the bottom of the sixth Wentz made this an 11-6 game with an RBI triple. A sac fly by Aaliyah huff made it 12-6 and the final run came on an RBI single from Johnson.

 Notes: Valerie Stauffer and Johnson easy had 2 steals. As a team Groveport has 8 stolen bases.

Johnson and Wentz each had 3 hits. As a team Groveport had 15 hits.

On defense Wentz had 4 put outs.

 Hamilton Township provided no stats.
