The Eagles flew to a 12 point lead after one quarter and never really looked back as they would win the state title by a 49-40 score. Janae Cain led the way with 17 points including 6-7 from the free-throw line.  Mychael Hanson chipped in with 15 points and 3 boards. Ja'kyiah Cook dominated the boards with a game-high 13 boards.

For the Irish Melania Cornute had 13 points and 5 boards. She was backed by Tatum Smith 12 points. Sydney Ferguson led the team with 7 boards.

The winners won the battle of the boards 34-21, and they also shot better from the floor  48.6% compared to 31.9% for the Irish.

 The Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary High School girls basketball team stands with the state runner-up trophy after falling 49-40 to Dayton Chaminade Julienne in the Division III girls state championship at UD Arena on Friday.
