Please post something from last season that sticks out to you. It can be from a game, practice, or something funny on the bus ride to or from the game. Any moment that sticks out to you.
Advancing to Sunday at the Sparkler and winning the morning. Big game, big moments for us, and just that rush of how we felt and how we celebrated together. It’s what we work for then and now.
Who or what got you started playing softball?
I’ve played since T-ball. Fun Fact > I’ve had the same coach since T-ball. My travel ball coach and I have come a long way together from the Oklahoma Pixies to EPIC National 14U Holleyman/Smith. And I have 4 teammates who are OGs too, so we have pretty great chemistry!
How long have you played the game?
Since age 6.
What are your goals for the season?
Improve my rise ball spin rate/accuracy while maintaining a low ERA. Also, hitting .400, driving in runs for my team, and as many bombs as I can produce.
What are you looking forward to the most this season?
Competing at the Sparkler in Colorado again and at Alliance Nationals in Indiana.
What do you feel is the strongest part of your game?
My mindset. I try to approach every situation with an unshakable mindset. And my spin/pitching.
What has been your biggest moment as a softball player?
I was the starting pitcher in the semis and finals at the USA Softball 14U All American Games at Devon Park. There’s nothing like stepping out on that field, and I’m working to get back there someday.
Where do you feel you are best at on the diamond?
In the circle or at the plate when it’s crunch time. I feel like I’m my best in challenging situations.
What is your favorite part of practice?
When Coach Holleyman pitches to us. He played NCAA and NFL football, so he’s a competitor. He literally has tried to strike us out since we were 6 y/o, and he likes to taunt us a little bit. Literally, some of my favorite moments.
What is the hardest part of practice?
Just ensuring we stay locked in the entire practice. My teammates are my best friends, so I'm just balancing fun with a high-level workout.
How do you get over a bad game?
By knowing that I’m always just 1 pitch away, whether in the circle or at the plate. 1 pitch away from an SO, from closing out the inning, or hitting one over. It just takes one pitch to change the dynamic.
What makes you a good teammate?
My joy for the game and for being in the cages, at the fields, or with my teammates. That love of the game carries me and is evident in everything I do. I think my teammates see that in me.
How would you describe your style of play?
Aggressive. I’m aggressive both in the circle and at the plate.
What is your favorite home-cooked meal? Sweet tea, chicken strips, and salad.
What is your favorite type of music?
Christian or country music. I’m from Oklahoma! ðŸ¤
Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?
Love to play back old NCAA softball games, watch NCAA football, do anything outside, or shop for shoes.
