Please post something from last season that sticks out to you. It can be from a game, practice, or something funny on the bus ride to or from the game. Any moment that sticks out to you:

Coming together as a team and winning district champions for the first time in Scioto softball history really sticks out to me.

What was the best part of the Ohio State camp?

The best part for me was meeting some of the players, like Kailea Ricks, Skylar Limon, and Kiki Estrada, and of course the coaches — 2K, Coach Guemmer, and Coach Spaid.

What did you learn from the Ohio State camp?

At the Ohio State camp, I learned how important it is to focus on the small details. The coaches taught me how to improve mechanics and how to compete at a higher level every day. I also learned the importance of mental toughness, staying confident, and pushing myself outside my comfort zone. The camp showed me what it takes to play at the next level and motivated me to keep working hard.

What goals are you setting for the team this season?

To continue working as a team, strive for greatness, and win the state championship.

What has been your biggest moment as a softball player?

Hitting my first grand slam in my first at-bat last season.

Who was the best pitcher that you faced in a game last season, along with the team she was on?

The best pitcher I faced last season would have to be Bronwynn Leighty from Delaware Hayes.

What do you feel is the strongest part of your game?

I believe the strongest part of my game is my hitting.

Which teammate is the most vocal at practice and during a game?

I would have to say it’s me.

What is the toughest part of a Scioto practice?

The toughest part of practice is facing live pitching against our head coach, Tatum Edwards, a former Nebraska University pitcher.

What is the toughest weather to play in?

The toughest weather to play in is cold and wet conditions.

Should every team make the tournament? Explain.

I think teams should make the tournament because it allows them to challenge themselves and gain experience playing at the next level.

What makes you a good teammate?

Building connections with my teammates and bringing energy all the time.

What is your game day routine?

I start by thanking God. I arrive early to warm up with purpose, stay mentally locked in, communicate with my teammates, and compete with intensity.

What is a sport you wish you could play but do not have the skill set to?

I believe that with practice and determination, anyone can play any sport, but if I had to pick, I would choose basketball.

Who is your favorite athlete?

My favorite athlete is Mia Scott.

What is your favorite class or subject?

My favorite class right now is IB Sports Science Academy.
