What were your feelings as you walked off the field for the last time as a member of the Lloyd Memorial football team?
I felt crushed, like we knew we could have been them, and it just didn’t happen; it just all felt unreal to me.
What will you miss the most from playing high school football?
The winter lifted, leaving everyone excited to be back, just doing something to get ready for football.
If you are invited to play in the East vs. West game, will you?
Getting to play in the East vs. West game has been a dream of mine since I was a kid, so if I got invited, I would absolutely play.
What do you wish you would have done differently to prepare you for football?
I wish I would have gotten into the weight room consistently at an earlier age.
What was the biggest lesson that you learned from playing high school football?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned from football is discipline—staying disciplined in the classroom and on the field.
What was your biggest moment as a football player?
My biggest moment as a football player was when I got my first varsity tackle late in a game as a freshman.
What was the best part of your senior season?
Finishing my last high school football season with the teammates that I started from the beginning with.
What was the toughest part of your senior season?
Losing to Murray in the state semifinals.
Of all of the wins, which one meant the most?
The one that meant the most to me was Campbell County because it was the first game I actually got put in.
Which loss stung the most?
Murray was the loss that stung the most because we knew we should have won.
Would you share with the readers some of the schools that recruited you?
Westminster was my only official offer, but before they offered me, I was talking with Ohio Northern University.
Why did you pick Westminster College?
I picked Westminster because of the great conversations with Coach Ramey, Coach Chambers, Coach Barnett, and Coach Plummer. The enthusiasm they talked with about the football program and the school made me fall in love with Westminster immediately.
What is your favorite home-cooked meal?
Pork chops, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes.
What is a style or fad that your generation has that you do not get or understand?
I don’t get tight clothes; they’re not comfortable at all.
Who are your role models?
My mom and dad, for sure, for all they’ve put themselves through to make sure I always had what I needed.
