Please post something from last season that sticks out to you. It can be from a game, practice, or something funny on the bus ride to or from the game. Any moment that sticks out to you.
The moment that sticks out most was our league championship game my junior year against an undefeated Fair Lawn team. I rushed for 305 yards and 5 touchdowns, and we won our first league title since 1993. Seeing our teammates, coaches, and community celebrate something that hadn’t happened in over 30 years is something I’ll never forget.
Biggest moment in my high school career
The biggest moment of my high school career was the league championship game my junior year against an undefeated Fair Lawn team. I rushed for 305 yards and 5 touchdowns, and we won our first league championship since 1993.
Most meaningful win
The most meaningful win was Week 2 of my senior year against Tenafly. It’s a big rivalry game, and coming out on top meant a lot to our team and community.
The loss that stung the most
The loss that stung the most was the Ivy Championship final my junior year against Cliffside Park. We were down 20 at halftime, fought back to cut it to three, and still couldn’t finish it. Knowing it was the last game for our seniors made it hurt even more.
What mark do you feel your class left on the football program?
My class left toughness, grit, and accountability. We raised the standard and made it clear that football is earned, not given.
What was the biggest lesson you have learned from playing high school football?
The biggest lesson I learned is to be the hammer, not the nail. Nothing is handed to you—you have to go get it.
What were you feeling as you walked off the field for the last time as a high school football player?
A mix of relief and emotion. It was a hard season for me to push through, and finishing it meant everything.
What will you miss the most from playing high school football?
Early-morning lifting and conditioning with my teammates.
Who was the best player that you faced in a game, along with the team he was on?
Jason Mariculo, quarterback from Cliffside Park.
What made you a good teammate?
I held everyone accountable. The standard was the standard, and I made sure we upheld it.
How would you describe your style of play?
A mix of Marshawn Lynch’s physical running style and Brian Cushing’s intensity.
Why should a college coach recruit you?
I’m an extremely hard worker who is fully committed to this game and willing to do whatever it takes to help a team win.
Would you share with the readers how the recruiting process has gone, along with some schools that you have heard from?
The recruiting process has been stressful but exciting. I’ve been in contact with Rutgers, Villanova, Marist, Temple, Fordham, Central Connecticut State, and Colgate. Currently, I’m talking with Mount Union, Springfield, Brockport, St. John Fisher, and Muhlenberg.
What scares you?
Not being able to continue playing football.
What is a style or fad that your generation has that you just do not get?
Prioritizing social media hype over real development. Too many players care more about attention than learning the game and getting better.
Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?
Spending time with family and friends, recovering, and staying focused on improving mentally and physically.
