Please post a small recap of last season with something like a big game you had, something about a certain game, something from a bus ride to or from the game, or something that sticks out from a practice.

One thing that sticks out from last season was our season opener at Mifflin, our rival. We didn’t smile until the game was over, but we went in focused, took care of business, and came out with a win.

Would you let the readers know the conference that your school plays in?

United Conference

What is the best/worst part of being a multi-sport athlete at KIPP Columbus?

The best part of being a multi-sport athlete at KIPP Columbus is getting to compete year-round and represent my school in different ways. The hardest part is balancing everything—school, practices, and staying healthy—but it’s taught me discipline and how to handle a busy schedule.

As a basketball player, what has been your biggest moment?

My biggest moment as a basketball player was stepping up in a game where my team really needed me and making plays on both ends. It showed me I could handle pressure and be someone my teammates could count on.

Who or what got you started playing basketball?

My dad got me into basketball. Watching him play in college made me want to follow in his footsteps and fall in love with the game.

What are you looking forward to the most this season?

I’m looking forward to winning the conference, hitting 1,000 points, and leading my team to a district championship.

What will it take for the team to improve on the 12-11 record you posted last season, including the 2-4 conference record?

It’s really going to come down to consistency, showing up locked in every day, playing together, and keeping the same energy and focus no matter who we’re facing.

What makes you a good teammate?

I think I’m a good teammate because I always support my teammates, communicate on and off the court, and lead by example through my work ethic and attitude.

Should there be a shot clock in Ohio high school basketball?

Yes, I think there should be a shot clock because it keeps the game exciting. Watching a team hold the ball for several minutes when they’re ahead can kill momentum and make the game less competitive.

Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team he was on?

Jason Singleton, Columbus Academy

Should every team make the playoffs in basketball?

Yes, I think every team should make the playoffs because it gives everyone a chance to compete, gain experience, and keep improving throughout the season.

Are you hoping to play football or basketball in college?

Basketball

What is something that you would like to do in a game, but you might never have the chance to?

Something I’d love to do in a game but might never get the chance to do is pull off an East Bay dunk.

Who are your role models?

My mom

Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?

Outside of sports, I like to play video games or cook for fun.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Stephen Curry
