When did you know you were going to be the starting quarterback for the Eagles?
No position is ever guaranteed, but I knew I was going to be the starter when our camps started in April.
What were your first thoughts once you were named the starter?
My first thoughts and feelings were excitement at the opportunity to start on varsity, but I also knew that the speed, size, and skill level would be a jump from middle school.
What were your goals heading into the season?
My goals coming into the season were not to force too many interceptions, to stay calm, and to improve my long ball.
How would you describe how the season has gone for you so far?
My season so far has gone way past my expectations. I have completed most of my goals that I set at the beginning of the season, and I contribute a lot of that success to my O-line.
Can you share with the readers how you came to play for the Eagles?
I found the Eagles through a Facebook post and was impressed with all the extra opportunities, especially traveling and playing in NFL stadiums, and the motto “One God, One Team, One Fight.”
Who has been the best team that you have faced this season, along with the thing that made them so good?
The best team that we have faced all season has been the Switzerland County Patriots. They were so well-rounded and disciplined that it made moving the ball very difficult.
Who has been the best player that your team has faced this season, along with the team he was on?
The best player we have faced has got to be Ezekiel Bowie, the running back for the Columbus Crusaders.
What was it like playing at AT&T Stadium in Dallas and then at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis?
Although I was too young to play at AT&T Stadium, just being on the sideline with the varsity was incredible. The experience at Lucas Oil was almost surreal; there is nothing like playing at an NFL stadium, and the HFC organization did a great job with all the details.
What do you feel is the strongest part of your game?
The strongest part of my game is definitely my ability to move in and out of the pocket.
Which part of your game must you improve on the most to raise your level of play?
If we want to improve, I need to work on my pocket presence and being stable inside the pocket.
How would you describe your style of play?
I would describe myself as an improvisor, Qb. Or a scrambler.
What is the toughest part of playing for Coach Good Pastor, as well as the best thing about playing for him?
The hardest part of Coach Goodpastor is that he expects a lot out of me, but he also respects and trusts me with the team.
Who is your favorite athlete?
My favorite player is Kyler Murray, because he reminds me of myself. Mainly because of his height, haha. I also respect him because of his strong Christian conviction.
Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?
Outside of sports, I am quite an avid skier.
What is your go-to snack?
