Please post a small recap of last season with something like a big game you had, something about a certain game, something from a bus ride to or from the game, or something that sticks out from a practice.
Last season wasn’t what we hoped for. Only two wins and a lot of tough nights, and I was 8 games in before an injury ended my year. Sitting and watching instead of playing was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do; you never know how much you love this game until it gets taken away from you.
But I’ll always remember that Olentangy game. 26 points on a night where everything just clicked. It reminded me of what I’m capable of, even in a season full of setbacks.
I’m not letting last year define me. I’m using it to push me.
What are your goals for the 2025/2026 season?
Goals for the 2025–2026 season:
Lead my team to a winning record.
Average a double-double.
Stay healthy and on the court every night.
Be a leader—in practice, in games, and in the locker room.
Prove that last season was just the beginning.
What is the best part of playing high school basketball? What is the toughest part of being a high school basketball player?
The best part of playing high school basketball is being out there with my friends, all of us growing together and pushing each other. It’s a small community where everyone knows everyone, and there’s something special about being young and getting to play the game you love with the people you’re closest to.
What makes you a good teammate?
What makes me a good teammate is that I’m always trying to get better and learn more every day. I talk on defense and offense, and I try to keep everyone on the same page. I look to find the open man, make the right play, and do whatever it takes to help my team win. I know there’s always room to improve, but I’m willing to put in the work and keep growing.
How would you describe your style of play?
I’d describe my play style as a scorer who can get to their spots, create space, and hit shots from all three levels. I use footwork, rhythm, and patience to set up my defender and get a clean look.
What is the strongest part of your game?
The strongest part of my game is my ability to score at all three levels, finishing at the rim, hitting the mid-range, and knocking down shots from deep.
Which part of your game are you hoping to improve the most during the season?
This season, I’m looking to improve on scoring the ball more efficiently and grabbing more rebounds. I want to make the most out of each possession, take better shots, and also be more active on the glass on both ends of the floor.
Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team he was on?
The best player I’ve ever faced was Jordan Fisher from Reynoldsburg High School. He’s extremely athletic and can score from basically anywhere on the court, which makes him really tough to guard.
Which road gym is the toughest? To play in, along with what makes it so tough?
When it comes to the toughest place to play, I’d say I actually like away games. When the student sections are loud and talking at me, it motivates me. I feel like I play better in that environment.
Can the fans and cheerleaders affect your game?
Fans can definitely have an effect on my game. When my family and friends show up, I feel a little extra pressure because I want to perform for them, especially my dad. It pushes me to step up and play my best.
How is the early recruiting process going?
Recruiting has been going well so far. I’ve got some D3 and JUCO offers, and I’m continuing to work and stay patient with the process.
What scares you?
What scares me most is underperforming, not playing up to the level I know I can.
What is your go-to snack?
My go-to snack is peanut M&M’s. I could eat those anytime.
Who is your favorite athlete?
My favorite athlete is Jayson Tatum. I like the way he plays—smooth and skilled—and he can score at all three levels. I study his game a lot and try to take little things from how he moves, how he creates space, and how he stays composed in big moments.
Words from Kaden
Above all, I want to give all glory to Jesus Christ. Every opportunity, every game, and every success on or off the court is because of Him.
