Please post a small recap of last season with something like a big game you had, something about a certain game, something from a bus ride to or from the game, or something that sticks out from a practice.

We had to travel an hour and a half to Ridgedale for the District Semifinal, and I remember after pulling off the upset, we were super hyped in the locker room and sprayed Coach Cox with water.

When we interviewed last season, you had said that you needed to keep perfecting your shot and improve your range. How has that gone for you?

It is going great; I have put up thousands of shots in the offseason and feel very confident in my shot.

What was the high point of last season?

I think the high point of last season was at the end of the year and in the playoffs. Going into the postseason, we were at a high morale and excited to compete with other Division 7 teams. Although we fell short in the district final, we had a great time and learned a lot.

What was the toughest aspect of last season?

Not being able to get those close games. We lost 5 games by 4 or fewer points. All of those games were super tough to lose, but we have been grinding and will continue to work so we don’t experience that again.

What are you going to miss the most for the 2025 class?

I am really going to miss the bond that I had with those guys. I was super close with the seniors last year, especially Griffin, because we spent so much time together in the gym throughout our high school careers.

What will the team need to do to improve on the 8-17 record, including the 2-13 league mark?

Our record doesn’t tell the full story about our team. Only graduating 2 seniors, our team gained a lot of experience and chemistry last year that is going to be a huge help for our success this year. We have been keeping a chip on our shoulder getting ready for this year, and we’re determined to improve our record.

With this being your final high school season, did you prepare any differently than you have in the past?

Yes, I definitely approached my preparation differently since this is my last high school season. I have been working extra hard and really focusing on making every practice and every game count, knowing I won’t be able to get this experience again. I have been trying to be the best leader I can for my team and leave a positive mark before I graduate.

Which road gym has been the toughest to have played in, along with the thing that made it so tough?

The toughest road gym I have played in is Licking Valley. It was my sophomore year, and it was my first varsity game. The crowd was packed, and they always bring lots of fans to their games. Their student section was also full at that game, and it was just a tough first game for me.

Should there be a shot clock in high school basketball?

I think a shot clock could be beneficial for high school. It would prepare players that wanted to play at the next level to get used to the shot clock, and it could make games faster paced.

What is the toughest part of being the point guard?

Sometimes the pressure of having to run offenses and read defenses is tough, especially against teams that are very good defensively. But over time I have gotten pretty good at these things.

What is the best part of being the point guard?

Being able to control the pace and tempo of the game. I play very calmly and try not to let anyone ever speed me up. It is always a great feeling setting up your teammates for success and being able to make everyone around you better.

Which teammate is the toughest to go against during practice?

I would say both Trey and Wesley are the toughest to go against during practice. We push each other to our limits and compete every day. When we do 1-on-1 drills, I tend to go against one of these guys, and we always make each other better.

What is one thing you would like to do in a game, but might never have a chance to?

A game winner or fast break dunk.

What is your favorite class or subject?

Math or Anatomy

Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?

I like to golf and spend time with friends.

If you could have dinner with any athlete, past or present, who would you have dinner with?

LeBron James
