After all of the practices were over leading up to opening night, what goals did you set for the team?

The goals that were set was to take it day by day and week by week and be where our feet are. That’s one of the hardest things to do. Other goals that were set were to be distract champions and win the state championship.

What has been the toughest part of the season so far?

Battling through injuries not just with me but the whole team. We finally had a full healthy team week six since week zero. So that’s been tough on people having to learn other positions while trying to excel at their primary position.

What has been the best part of the season so far?

Definitely coming back from a 10 point deficit with three minutes left and beating mason city by a game winning field goal.

From game one heading into this week, what has been the biggest improvement with the team?

I think the fundamentals have improved over time significantly as well just being sound in technique.

What will you guys have to do to end the season strong and pick up some wins?

We have to stay true to our keys and stay the course. We have to have a winning and god mentality to finish the season strong. While being fully locked in on our preparation.

Who has been the best team you have faced this season, along with the biggest thing that made them so good?

The best team we have played is Cedar Rapids Xavier, they are very well coached and very technically sound. There is not a lot of times they mess up their assignments.

Who has been the best player that you have faced this season, along with the team he played for?

Drew bergfeld for western Dubuque.

What have you learned the most about yourself during the season?

I learned taking it day by day is super important. I can’t skip over any rep or any play I’m watching on film so I’m constantly getting better everyday.

Which one of your teammates takes charge when things start going poorly?

I think our team’s quarterback Caleb schipper. He is always positive and tries to pick everyone up.

Of the remaining games, which one are you looking forward to the most? Explain.

I am looking forward to every game for sure, but nothing is like a long lasting rivalry on the last game of the regular season against decorah.

Which road stadium has been the toughest to play in this season?

I would say western Dubuque, there stands were packed and the student section was loud.

Which road stadium was the best to play in?

Western Dubuque, they had a nice locker room and a nice stadium on top of a hill.

Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?

I like to hangout with friends and family, watch college football, watch movies, play video games, and lift.

What is your favorite class or subject?

My favorite class is my marketing class because of my teacher, Mrs Jensen.

What is your current favorite song?

Childs play by drake.

The Thursday nights before our games, our parents provide a team meal for us. We eat good food and talk about what we need to do for the game. It’s a great time with teammates and allows us to get on the same page and get focused as a team.
