Diesel Taylor

Primary QB

Secondary positions: DE, P, K

Class: 2026

6’2, 205 Awards won or earned: 2nd team all OHC:

What are you going to miss the most from the 2025 class?

I’m going to miss the amount of leadership the 2025 class had, but luckily the 2026 class has many leaders as well.

What were your personal goals for the 2024 season?

My personal goals this season were to stay relaxed at all times and make smart decisions while under pressure. And have a successful season.

Were you able to attain the goals you set?

I was able to attain the goals I had for myself, and as a team, we accomplished many things we wanted to.

What was the highest part of the 2024 season?

The highest goals we accomplished were making the second round of playoffs for 3 years in a row and hosting a playoff game.

What was the lowest part of the 2024 season?

The lowest part of the season was having 2 tough losses and losing to those teams by a combined 6 points.

Who was the best player that you faced during the 2024 season?

The best player I faced this season was the DE that played for Coldwater. He was able to apply a lot of pressure and make me scramble out of the pocket many times.

Who was the best team that you faced during the 2024 season, along with the things that made them so good?

Coldwater was the best team we faced all year. The thing that made them very tough was the amount of energy they brought coming into that game and the whole team being involved in the game.

Which road stadium was the toughest to play in this season? Explain

The toughest stadium I played at was Coldwater's Stadium for sure. The place was booming and was very, very loud.

QB or defensive end: Which position do you feel you are best at?

I’m best at QB because I can make smart decisions and lead our team down the field to score.

What makes you a good teammate?

What makes me a good teammate is the leadership role I play for the team. When you lead a team, you need to be able to command an offense and make sure everyone else is on the same page. And while in tough positions, you need to be able to put the team on your back and put them in a position to win!

What part of your game must you improve on to be a better all-around player next season?

I need to improve on not being so hard on myself when I make a mistake. I need to be able to stay focused and just focus on winning the game.

When do you start preparing for the 2025 season?

I start preparing for the next season as soon as the previous season ends. It’s a never-ending grind so I can better my game every day.

What is your go-to snack?

My go-to snack is cereal.

Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?

Outside of sports, I ride dirt bikes and hang out with my teammates.

What is your favorite class or subject?

My favorite subject in school is math; by far, it is what comes naturally to me, and I have always been great at it.
