Mohawk 62 Bucyrus 7

Last night I made my first trip to Bucyrus High School to see the Redmen (1-3, 0-1 Northern Athletic Conference) battle Mohawk (3-1, 0-1 Northern Athletic Conference). The crowd was large for the small school game, with both sides being close to 90% full.

The Warriors exploded early and often in this one. With 9:38 showing on the first quarter clock, Kaden Bish went 42 yards to make this a 6-0 game. The drive took just three plays, totalling 70 yards.

The defensive line for the Warriors would have a field day in this one, starting with Jett Loesser getting to Isaac Makeever for a loss of ten with 9:17 left in the quarter.

Once the Warriors got the ball back, Brant Kirian took the ball to the Redmen's 2-yard line with a 55-yard run. Bish followed the line into the end zone for the 2-yard score. This time Aden Patrizi was true on his PAT kick to make this a 13-0 game, with 7:39 left in the quarter. This drive went for 57 yards on two plays.

Makeever would be thrown back for a loss of ten by Bish as the Warriors' defense continued to lay the smack down on the Redmen offense.

A little over a minute later this became a 20-0 game after Levi Tiell caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Andon Clouse.

With 3:47 still left in the quarter, Clouse sprinted in for a 14-yard touchdown to make this a 27-0 game. The drive took 4 plays and went for 35 yards.

Bish got to make a 5-yard loss, then Bish sprinted for a 65-yard gain once the Warriors offense was back on the field. Bish then capped the two-play 79-yard drive off with a 14-yard gut run to make this a 34-0 game with 1:18 left on the clock.

With 11:39 left in the half, Clouse found Owen Patrizi for a 35-yard score to make this a 41-0 game, and the running clock was started.

Makeever would finally have more than 1.2 seconds to throw the ball, and he found Da'Shawn Cosey for a 25-yard gain. Makeever ended the 8-play, 85-yard drive with a 10-yard touchdown. The PAT was by #18, not on the roster, though there is a kicker on the roster, Cooper Kalb, to make this a 41-7 game, with 4:55 left in the half.

Clouse found Patrizi, who broke three tackles on his way to a 15-yard gain, with 2:51 left in the half. The 3-play, 57-yard drive came to a close when Clouse connected with Tiell for a 25-yard score, making this a 48-7 game, with 2:12 left in the half.

Rhett Leeth got to Makeever for a 5-yard loss right before the half ended.

With the running clock, the Warriors were able to eat up most of it as they went on a 10-play, 60-yard drive capped off by a Patrizi 15-yard scoring run. Patrizi hit the PAT to make this a 55-7 game, with 6:01 left on the clock.

Makeever completed a 12-yard pass to Wyatt Makeever, and then he connected with Christian Neal for 13 yards. Just as things looked to be going well for the Redmen, Makeever would be picked off by Tiell to put the Warriors offense back on the field.

The last score of the game came on a 28-yard run by Jagger Ekleberry to make this a 62-7 game. The Warriors' defense would get the hit of the game when Rhett Leeth bulldogged Brody Corfman for a loss of six. The special team hit of the game came from Logan Hemminger, who blasted the Redmen's kickoff returner.
