Please post a small recap of last season with something like a big game you had, something about a certain game, something from a bus ride to or from the game, or something that sticks out from a practice.
I had a really big game against Franklin Simpson in the 2nd round of the playoffs. I recorded 11 tackles, 3 TFL, and multiple batted passes.
Do you have any game day superstitions?
I have to go eat DQ breakfast on game day with some of the guys.
Last time we spoke, you had said these were the goals you were setting for yourself for the 2024 season. "My personal goals are to get 5+ sacks, 60+ tackles, and 500+ total yards." Which of these goals did you achieve?
I achieved 60+ tackles. I had 113 total tackles.
What will you miss the most from the 2025 class?
I will miss all my teammates. I grew up playing all my life.
What have you done during the off-season to improve your game?
I've been in the weight room a ton, as well as been on the field.
Hart County had another fantastic season, going 12-1, with the lone loss coming from a very good Union County team. Looking back at the game, what do you feel went wrong?
I think we hit the injury bug at the wrong time of year, but at the end of the day, our defense just wasn’t what it had been the whole year.
What makes you a good teammate?
I think my constant positive energy is what makes me a good teammate.
Why should a college coach recruit you?
A college coach should recruit me for my size as well as my work ethic on the field as well as in the classroom.
Can the band, fans, and cheerleaders get you fired up before and/or during the game?
Yeah, they most definitely can, especially when we are at home. I think we have one of the best, if not the best, fan bases in Kentucky.
How important is it for the team to not only get along on the field but also off of it too?
It’s really important your teammates should be the closest thing you have to a brother, so all those relationships should be really good.
What advice are you giving the first-year starter right before kickoff on opening night?
I would tell them to stay calm and keep their head in the game. Don’t get caught up in everything around you; pay attention to your assignment and execute it.
How did the basketball season go for you and the team?
It was an up-and-down year; we just could never get a rhythm because of injuries.
If you are hearing from any colleges, would you share some of them with the readers?
I have one offer from Hanover.
I have been talking to Centre, Lindsey Wilson University, and EKU, as well as some other schools.
What is your go-to snack?
My go-to snack is a Fit Crunch protein bar.
Who is your favorite music act or artist?
Morgan Wallen
Louisville, Kentucky, or Western Kentucky?
Kentucky for sure!!
