My most memorable moment from my junior season was when I scored my first touchdown in my high school career. Linemen don't get that kind of love or respect.
With this being your final season, are you approaching things differently than you have in the past?
Execute and dominate each team that stands across from me. Embrace and enjoy every moment, because it will be my last moment in my high school career.
Last season, when we spoke, you had said that "I must become more consistent in the weight room and be a better leader than the prior year before." Were you able to obtain these goals?
I have been more consistent, as I promised myself to grind harder and be better than my previous years. And I continue to do just that throughout my entire senior season.
What has been the biggest change that Coach Brandon Fort has brought to the program?
Accountability, self-reflection, and never giving up no matter how hard the opponent or task is ahead of me.
What does community buy-in mean to you, the team, and the school?
Never turning our backs on each other or ourselves. Doing the right thing even when you think no one is watching.
Who is the toughest teammate to square up against during practice?
My former teammate, David Carter. We grew up playing with and against each other. And always remained humbled but continued to be challenged by each other at the same time.
What is the best part of the first day of practice?
That first helmet crack.
What makes you a good teammate?
Accountability, accepting of criticism regardless of how right it may be. Awareness and Attitude.
Why should a college coach recruit you?
I'm coachable, and I will always continue to grow as an athlete. Both mentally and physically.
Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team he was on?
Shamar Chilton, Westland High School
What are your thoughts when it comes to girls playing football?
Go for it! I have sisters, so I would never say they couldn't try something. Just know I won't take it easy on you.
If you are invited to play in any of the all-star games after the season, will you?
Absolutely!
Would you share with the readers a school or two that you are hearing from as far as recruitment goes?
Youngstown State, Wittenberg University, and the University of Toledo.
What is your go-to snack?
Pure Leaf Sweet Tea and Beef Jerky.
Have you gone to a Columbus Clippers game?
Yes, I go with my family a few times a year.
What is the one sport you cannot watch?
Golf takes forever to complete.
