Post a small recap of last season with personal highlights and any other big moments you have and/or memories you have from last season, whether it be a game, the bus ride to or from the game, or any other thing that sticks out.
There wasn’t really anything that stood out to me my freshman year. I wanted to start at the varsity level, and I couldn’t do that consistently. I knew that I could hang with those guys, but I wasn’t physically ready for it.
RB/Wrec, which of the two positions do you feel you are best at?
I’m better at receiver for now because I have more experience with it, and I’ve trained more at that position.
What is the biggest sacrifice you have made to play sports?
Honestly, I don’t get to spend a lot of time with the family I don’t live with. Summer workouts take a lot of time out of the day due to them being in the afternoon. So on the weekends I try to spend time with some of them, but you know I can’t see everyone at once.
What will you miss the most from the 2025 class?
I’m going to miss competing with them every day. Those were my guys, and we had fun together, but the competitiveness that I had against them was great.
What was the highlight of the 2024 season?
My first varsity start. My coach had texted me three days prior to the game on a Tuesday that I would be starting. So I had mentally prepared myself that entire week. I was ready. The whole first half of the game was going great. I did my assignments and was blocking well. It all changed in the second half. A few minutes into the third quarter, my coach had called a run play. My running back, Jeremiah Lee, scored on that play, but it was called back due to my holding call. I was taken out of the game, yelled at, and wasn’t put back in. I knew I had to learn from my mistakes.
What makes you a good teammate?
I see the potential in my teammates, and I start to want it for them. I like to hold them to a higher standard so that we are going to change the culture that has been held at our school. I want my teammates to want it just as much as I do.
What are your goals for the season?
I want to make a name for myself. No one knows my name yet, and I can’t wait for them to figure it out. Even some people at my school don’t know me. I’m going to change that this year. Statistically, I would like to have 400+ all-purpose yards and at least four touchdowns.
What has been the highlight of your football career so far?
Last year in my JV game against Lutheran, I ran for 150 yards and a touchdown.
As an athlete in any sport at any age, what has been your most embarrassing moment?
In 8th grade during basketball season, I was very clumsy, and every game I would fall at least once. So then my coaches started betting if I would fall that game or not. It was funny but a lot embarrassing.
Should every team make the playoffs? Explain
I don’t think every team should make the playoffs. I think if you win 4 games, you would make the playoffs. But if there are multiple teams with 4 wins, it would come down to the strength of the wins. Not making the playoffs for multiple years in a row, I think it would build character in the players and make them want to win even more. Bringing the kill mentality out of them. That’s just what I think.
Who is the best player you have played against in a game, along with the team he was on?
Jeremiah Lee my freshman year. His junior year he rushed for 1600 yards and 20 touchdowns. He has just started his freshman year at Army West Point.
What are your thoughts on girls playing on the football team?
I think it shows anyone can do anything. If she can hang, then let her play.
When the game is on the line, why should your number be called?
My number should be called one because I know every route concept and assignment to every play. Two, because I do whatever it takes to make a play.
What is the last book that you read, along with the author?
The Twin Thieves: How Great Leaders Build Great Teams
Book by Lucas Jadin and Steve Jones
Have you gone to any Indianapolis Indians games?
Yes, when I was little. It was a fun experience.
What state would you like to visit for the first time?
Pennsylvania because I would like to go to a Penn State whiteout out game.
