Linebacker and Running Back
Jersey Number 30
How long have you played football, and who or what got you started playing?
I’ve been playing football since I was 8 years old, and I feel like watching Bobby Wagner is what really inspired me and made me want to play football.
Linebacker or running back. Which one do you feel you are better at?
I’m better at linebacker. I’ve always felt more comfortable at that position, and I like defense more than offense.
Of those two positions, which one is the toughest to prepare for?
I would say linebacker because as a linebacker you are the quarterback of the defense, and you have to be able to read formations of an offense and kind of know everyone’s alignment on the field and call out the plays and stop the run and drop back into pass coverage.
What are you looking forward to this season?
I’m looking forward to having a good senior year and being 4x OCC champs this year.
How hard was it missing so many games because of the injury?
It was very hard on me I felt that all the work I put in was just thrown away. But I hit rehab and recovery hard and feel 10x better.
Which road stadium has had the best atmosphere?
Olentangy Liberty Prior to their state championship season, when we played them, you could feel the energy in the stadium, through the stands and student section, and on the field—just a crazy game and season.
Who is one teammate most likely to do something at practice to get a laugh when things are tense during practice?
Jeremy Mann #33 would definitely be the one to do something when practice is tense already; he’ll dance to the music during practice and stir something up with a teammate.
Who is the toughest teammate to square up against in practice?
I would say Alex Marcum #55. He’s your bully guard a linebacker who hates to face strong and smart people and has been a 3-year starter for Gahanna.
What makes you a good teammate?
What makes me a good teammate is I like to lead by example most of the time, but I’m always open to talking with teammates on how to improve and get better as a unit and keep everyone on the same page together.
Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team they were on?
I thought Jaystin Gwinn, QB for Westerville Central, was pretty talented and extremely shifty for a QB—very agile and mobile.
If you are invited to play in any all-star games after the season, will you?
I most definitely always love to compete.
Who has the best burger in Gahanna?
No question. Gahanna Grill's beanie burger is top tier. 💯.
What is the worst type of music?
Definitely K-pop; it’s trash and is pointless.
What is you go-to snack?
I like the strawberry Uncrustables. I usually grab one of those before practice or lifting if I’m hungry.
