What is the best part and toughest part of playing for Coach Sayers?

The best part of playing for Coach Sayers is that he’s really passionate about coaching. And he pushes us to be the best version of ourselves.

What is the best part of being a student-athlete at Columbus Northland?

The best part is the environment. Being surrounded by other guys who want it just as bad as I do.

What have you accomplished during the off-season to aid you in being a better player?

During the off-season, I felt like I got mentally stronger and physically stronger.

Would you share with the readers some of the camps that you have attended and the biggest lesson you have been able to learn from the camps?

Kent State Mega Camp. I learned a lot about how college coaches ran their drills, etc.

What are your personal goals for the season?

1st team all-state

What goals are you setting for the team?

Winning every game we play.

What makes you a good teammate?

Wanting to see other plays succeed

What is the strongest part of your game?

My press man coverage. Jamming receivers.

What does community buy-in mean to you, the team, and the football program?

Community buy-in means having local support, pride, and involvement behind the team. For me, the team, and the program, it means knowing we’re playing for more than ourselves—we’re representing our side of town, school, and everyone who believes in us. That support fuels our drive and brings everyone together.

Can the band, fans, and cheerleaders get you fired up?

No, I get myself fired up.

What is your game day routine?

Listen to music and get some food.

If you are invited to play in any of the all-star games after the season, will you?

I’m going to miss the amount of leadership the 2025 class had, but luckily the 2026 class has many leaders as well. What were your personal goals for the 2024 season? My personal goals this season were to stay relaxed at all times and make smart decisions while under pressure. And have a successful season. Were you able to attain the goals you set? Athens Bulldogs use balanced attack to down Wellston Golden Rockets 41-0

  *Using the rosters from both Hudl and Max Preps* The Plains, OH Last night I made the hour-long drive to Athens High School to watch the Bulldogs host the Golden Rockets of Wellston. Entering the game, the Bulldogs came in 7-0 and ranked number 10 in division three. Wellston, much improved from last season, entered 5-2. In the game last year, Athens won 47-28. Wellston started out doing exactly what they needed to do to have a shot at winning the game. They came out and ate most of the first quarter with a drive that had last for 15 plays going for 69 yards. Things would start going wrong for them on the sixteenth play of the drive. They faced fourth and four from the Bulldogs five, and they elected to go for it, where the pass and the second attempt of the drive fell incomplete, forcing a turnover on downs. On the drive facing a third and one, Seth Lambert picked up twelve. Later on the drive facing third and fifth, Johhny Scott picked up 10-yards after he could not find anyon...
