Words from Ope

A big moment last year was summer conditioning because there was a lot of leadership and bonding

When Ben Davis won their last state title, I was able to cover that game. What will it take for this year's team to make it back to Lucas Oil Stadium?

And it's going to take leadership, discipline, brotherhood, and hard work.

What are your personal goals for the season?

My personal goal for this season is to make sure my seniors have a great goodbye year.

Which game are you looking forward to the most this season? Explain

I am looking forward to the Ben Davis vs. Avon game because it hurts deep down losing to a team we were supposed to beat by 1 point.

What motivates you to keep playing football?

The thing that keeps me motivated is going from being a 13-1 state champion team to a 5-6 team.

Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team he played on?

The best player I ever faced in a game was the running back from Lawrence North.

What is your favorite part of practice?

My favorite part about practice is the bonding and leadership as a team.

What is the worst part of practice?

The worst part about practice is the slog of miscommunication and guys not going at 1000 miles per hour.

Do you believe being on the track and field team helps you when it comes to being a better football player? Explain

Absolutely, I am doing track and field right now to make a name for myself and also set records.

What position do you feel you are best at?

And I feel the most comfortable at the edge position, but it's still a learning process going into my junior year .

What is the strongest part of your game?

Going over film, getting help with mistakes that were made, and fixing it at 100%.

What have you done during the off-season to improve your game?

I did track during the offseason to stay in shape and also got a personal trainer at Major Sports Performance.

How do you get over a bad game?

I go over film to see the mistake I made personally and fix it at practice.

Outside of sports, what are you doing for fun?

Outside of sports , I love to take mental breaks and try to be a better student athlete.

What is a talent or skill that you have that would shock your friends?

The talent I have is the ability to be able to do my own hair.

What is your go-to snack?

Protein bars and fruit snacks.
