With this being your final high school football season, have you prepared any differently than you have in the past?

This is the moment I’ve been working toward for years. Everything I’ve done — the training, the film, the sacrifices — it’s all been for this final run. Now, I finally have the chance to help my team build a legacy. That’s been the mission all along, and this year, we’re ready to make it real.

Does watching a local public school win the D-1 state title in 2024 motivate you more to help lead your team to the title?

Without a doubt. Seeing a local public school bring home that trophy lit a fire in me. We’ve got the talent and the skill — now it’s about locking in, executing, and bringing it all together. That title is within reach, and we know it.

How much easier is your job as a running back knowing you have a big, nasty line in front of you?

It makes a huge difference. When I line up and know I’ve got a big, nasty line in front of me, it gives me confidence. They create space, they protect, and they let me be more explosive. It allows me to focus on making plays, not just surviving hits.

What is the strongest part of your game?

Speed and physicality — that’s always been my game. I’ve been fast since I was a kid running track, and I bring that same energy to the field. I’m a tough, physical runner who can hit the hole and take off.

Which part of your game must you improve to be more dangerous than you already are?

I want to be more elusive. The game is changing, and running backs now have to do it all — power, speed, and agility. I’m focused on conditioning and quickness so I can be even more of a threat in the open field.

What makes you a good teammate?

I lead by example. I give everything I have — every rep, every drill, every game. I push my teammates to match that energy, and I make sure they know I’ve got their back no matter what.

When the game is on the line, why should your number be called?

Because I play to win. When the pressure is on, I want the ball. My teammates trust me, and I trust them. It’s not about me — it’s about us. I’ll do whatever it takes to help us win.

Which game are you looking forward to the most?

Week one. There’s nothing like the start of the season — the lights, the crowd, and the chance to show the world what we’ve been building during the offseason. It’s our first shot to make a statement.

What is your favorite weather to play in?

Cool, breezy fall weather. That’s real football weather. It hits different and brings out that extra energy.

Can the fans, cheerleaders, and band get you fired up?

Absolutely. My head coach, Bruce Ward, always says, “Energy is contagious,” and he’s right. When the crowd is hyped, I feed off that. It gives me an extra gear.

How do you get over a bad game?

Short memory. You have to learn from it, but you can’t live in it. The next opportunity is always around the corner, and I stay focused on being better next time.

Where is the best local spot to grab a burger?

Cap City in Gahanna — hands down. It’s a great sit-down spot, and the burgers are top-tier.

Who is your favorite athlete?

Kobe Bryant. I wear his number and always looked up to the way he played. His mentality — that Mamba Mentality — is something I try to bring into everything I do.

Have you gone to a Columbus Clippers game?

Yeah, I went when I was a kid. I still remember getting a game ball — it was such a cool experience. Definitely a core memory for me.
