Post a small recap of last season with personal highlights and any other big moments you have and/or memories you have from last season, whether it be a game, the bus ride to or from the game, or any other thing that sticks out.

Answer: We had a rough season, going 1-9. A lot of young guys had to step up, but we are looking to change that this season, coming in with a whole new coaching staff and bringing back the football program that it was known for. The best memories from the past season were walk-throughs on Thursdays and team meals because they made us closer and made a brotherhood.

How long have you played football, and who or what got you started?

Answer: I started playing football in 3rd grade; what inspired me to play was my dad and Ohio State football. I watched a lot of Braxton Miller growing up, and I wanted to do everything he did because he was an athlete who played quarterback and wide receiver. Who wouldn’t want to play in those spots growing up?

What motivates you to keep playing the game?

Answer: One thing that keeps me going is the love and passion I have for the game, and seeing my family do everything for me, I want to pay back everything that they did for me.

What are your personal goals for the season?

Answer: A couple of goals I have for the team this year are defense being the strongest and most aggressive part of our team because if no team can score on us, our offense feeds off that energy and does their job. Personal goals are to lead the team in tackles and to not let up any touchdowns.

Overall, you guys had a down year, going 1-9. What do you think has to improve for you guys to turn things around this season?

Answer: One thing we need to work on after going 1-9 is being more aggressive and consistent. Try and push guys to give it 100% for the time, and if everybody can do that, we have a great chance of shutting out every team we play.

What have you been able to accomplish during the off-season to aid you in becoming a better player?

Answer: Things I worked on during this off-season: I worked on my footwork and a better approach to open-field tackling and reading overages and watching last year's film, seeing what I did wrong and how I looked on certain plays and situations.

Which part of your game do you feel is the strongest?

Answer: A part of my game that I feel is the strongest is me being able to cover anybody doesn’t matter if it’s a slot receiver or the X receiver or a tight end; I’m still going to cover and do my job.

What is the toughest part of playing strong safety?

Answer: The toughest part of being a safety is you have to know coverages and know how to be able to read the offense, and you definitely have to watch film every day during school or after practice before you get to game day. Another one is open-field tackling. Open-field tackling is a thing you can always improve because once you meet a good running back or a receiver that is shifty, they will expose you.

Who is the best player that you have faced in a game, along with the team they played for?

Answer: Well, there are a lot of good guys in the area and teams that I played against, but 3 guys that gave me the most challenges this past season were Jaden Pydyn, Detroit Catholic Central running back; Samson Gash, Detroit Catholic Central star receiver; and Eli Beal, St. Francis de Sales. Running back. Those guys gave me a lot of challenges that may have exposed some of my weaknesses, and it showed me stuff I need to work on and get better at. There’s always room for improvement.

What are you looking forward to the most this season?

Answer: One thing I’m looking forward to the most this season is proving everybody wrong every time we step on the field and shushing all the people who said something negative about our last year’s team.

If you are invited to play in any of the all-star games after the season, will you?

Answer: Yes, I will most definitely play in an all-star game if I am invited. I am always looking for ways to play against the best and ways to learn from the best.

What makes you a good teammate ?

Answer: Things that make me a good teammate are I’m always encouraging guys to keep going and not focus on being perfect at a drill, and I never let my teammates get down on themselves because there’s always a next play they can make for us, and we need them to stay clear-minded. I never make my teammates feel like they are getting laughed at or joked on because if I were in their shoes, I would want people to treat me with respect and help me if I messed up.

Who are your role models?

Answer: My role models are my uncle, Mom, and my aunts. They’ve done so much for me growing up that I feel like I don’t have a choice but to repay them with being successful. They also show me there’s always a way; you just have to keep pushing, and you’ll get what you need, and to always keep faith in God because he’s working with you; you just have to trust him.

What is your favorite class or subject?

Answer: My favorite class is Spanish or history. I really love learning new languages and learning more about world history.

What country would you like to visit for the first time?

Answer: A country I would love to visit is the Dominican Republic. I love water, and I love how beautiful it looks in the Dominican Republic.
