What did you learn from the season last year that you can use to be a better player this season?

I think I learned last year that it’s not easy; you have to earn every yard, every play. Nothing is just given to you.

What are you going to miss the most from the 2025 class?

Teammates and the bond I love those guys… We We’ve played football together since 7th grade, and to see them leave hurts, especially Rodney… He’s like a real brother to me, and I’ve witnessed him go from an okay IVC WR to a top WR in the state of Ohio.

What is your game day routine?

I can’t give too much away, but a pre-game nap is a must... I have to get that in, and also music—a lot of music—and praying…

Which teammate is most likely to do something funny when things are really tense at practice or during the game?

There are two Roy Simmons and Brodie Powers; they both just don’t care sometimes, and they like to poke coaches’’nerves, so them definitely, but in-game, no one really. I feel we’re really locked in as a unit.

The Hornets were 11-2 last year. What is it going to take to better that record?

Weight room and way more focus—we’re going to be great this year, no doubt, but when times get hard, we don’t have Jared and Rodney to bail us out anymore, so I, Roy, and the rest of us have to step up.

What makes you a good teammate and leader?

To be honest, I personally would call myself a good teammate and leader because I love everyone on our team, and I want the best for them all, so if that means helping with a lift or even if they need someone to talk to, I want to be that guy they go to, but at the same time, this is a question for them, not me. Hopefully, they would say the same.

Is there a pro or college player that you pattern your game after?

I watch a lot of T. Quinshon Judkins, Zeke, and Derrick Henry tape…tape. I love how those guys run The Rock, and even looking anything like those guys would be a blessing.

How do you get over a bad game?

Have a good game next week, and don’t pout because it’s going to happen. pen…

Why should the coach call your number when the game is on the line?

I think Coach and I had a rocky relationship at first, but over the last 2 years, I feel he’s been a perfect role model in my life and someone I can trust, which has given him high trust and respect from me, so when times get hard, I don’t think it’ll be hard for him at all to call my number…

How do you help a teammate who is having a bad game or practice?

You have to know how to poke each teammate. e... Yelling only works on some players, so for most of the guys I know, there's a tick, tick, so there's one way, but also turning it up, up, up another level myself makes the whole room up, up, so there’s that. t…

After the season, will you play in any of the all-star games if you are invited?

Yes,s,, for sure,e,, it’s an honor to be selected. d. I feel holding out is unnecessary.

Would you share with everyone some of the schools that you are hearing from?

A couple are Taylor University, Mount Union, Mount Saint Joseph, Robert Morris, and Murray State.

Where is the best local spot to grab a pizza?

I’m not a huge pizza guy, to be honest, but Jukebox is pretty good.

What is your dream job?

Well, of course NFL, but also a TV analyst for sports, so hopefully something big like ESPN.

What is your favorite sports movie or TV show?

All American and Swagger

Memories from Julius

Last year was the best season of football I’ve ever personally played. My favorite moment was winning player of the game in the biggest game of the year against the 7-0 Newcomerstown. But the bus ride back from Buckeye Trail was another great memory. For some reason, we made Coach mad, so for the whole bus ride, he just sat and stared at us, and all you could see was the brim of his hat looking at us. The biggest moment on the field was my first TFL this year .
