(Softball)Dublin Scioto throws a no-hitter in a 13-0 five-inning win over Worthington Kilbourne

(The Kilbourne roster had no positions for the players.)

(Great job by Kilbourne for having their stats up on Maxpreps.com.)

Tonight Worthington Kilbourn (5-10) was supposed to host Dublin Scioto (6-1), but weather-related field conditions forced the game to be moved to Scioto.

Scioto jumped out in front 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning on a sac fly from Lyla Magnussen

A single by Maria Wasko later in the inning gave the Irish a 3-0 lead.

An error in the 2nd inning put the home team up 4-0.

The game would be blown open in the fourth with Scioto erupting for 9 runs to go up 13-0. Lyla Magnussen struck again with an RBI single, making this a 5-0 game. An RBI triple from Avery Reynolds increased the lead to 8-0. Gigi Rodriguez made it a 10-0 game with a hard single. An error allowed the 10th run to score. Gina Wasko and #Lyla Magnussen plated the final 3 runs.Wasko  had a double and Magnussen had a single.

Kilbourne, who won just one game last year, would be held hitless in this one. They did have some bright spots on the defensive side of things. Scarlett  Elderthrew out a runner trying to steal 2nd base, and on a wild pitch she raced back to the fence, got the ball, and tossed a perfect strike to the pitcher covering to get an out at the plate. Jules Orlins  made two nice catches, and Kerris Stuttard made a nice adjustment to make a sweet catch, robbing the batter of extra bases.
