What, in your eyes, was your biggest accomplishment as an athlete at Columbus East High School?
My biggest accomplishment at East High School is breaking the record in track and field (long jump).
What are you going to miss the most from playing high school football?
I’m going to miss those pre-game speeches and walkouts as a high school football player.
What lesson did you learn from playing high school football that you can use in life off of the field?
The lesson I learned was don’t take anything for granted, and I can use that off the field, as in, don’t take anything for less and keep going in what I want to do.
Who was the best player that you faced in a game, along with the team he played for?
The best player I faced was Cam Cooley (Beechcroft HS).
Who was the best team that you faced, along with the thing that made them so good?
The best team I faced was Northland; they had a very good defense to stop the run, and they were explosive off the line and were working just as we were working too.
Looking back on your high school football career, which win meant the most? Explain.
The win that meant the most was against Northland HS in order to advance in the city championship and playoffs.
Which loss stung the most?
The loss that stung the most was independence and linden.
What mark do you feel that your class left on the East Tigers football program?
The mark I left as East High Tiger is to never give up on what you want to do or chase in life. Keep working and striving for better.
If you are invited to play in any of the all-star games, will you?
Yes, I will indeed play in an all-star game and play with my heart one last time in high school football.
Now that your career is over, is there anything you wish you would have done differently?
Something I wish I would’ve done more was to not tell a coach that I don’t want to play a certain position because of my weight.
What has been the best and worst part of the recruiting process?
The best and worst part of recruiting was picking and choosing a school to go to, situating money, and trying to contact coaches.
Can you name some of the schools that you heard from and then let everyone know why you chose Defiance?
Some of the colleges I heard from were Bluffton, Otterbein, Capital, and OSU, but I chose Defiance because I think it’s a good fit for me and the path I want to go, and I wanted to stick with my brothers.
What scares you?
What scares me is drugs, guns, and parties.
Outside of sports, what do you do for fun?
Outside of sports, I work and work out and stay home, honestly, and I also play games when I get a chance.
What is your favorite class or subject?
My favorite subjects are math and science.
