First, how has the transfer from Southern Columbia to the bigger Bethel Park been going for you?
It’s been great. I’ve been focused on earning trust and building chemistry with the team.
When you met your new teammates, what was the first thing that you said to them?
I told them I’m excited to be a part of something special, work hard, and help the team win.
What do you believe the strongest part of your game is?
I think my ability to stay balanced, whether that’s making the right throw or using my legs when I need to help the offense stay moving.
How would you describe your style of play?
I’d say I’m a gritty, poised quarterback who’s good at pocket passing but not afraid to put my shoulder down to get an extra yard.
What have you done during the off-season to better your game?
In the off-season, I focused on gaining weight, improving my strength and speed, keying in on the fundamentals, studying the game, and attending camps to prepare for the season's ahead.
What are your goals for the season?
My goal is to win, be a leader on and off the field, and continue to see constant improvement in myself and the team.
What are three reasons you play football?
I play football because it’s hard and helps build character and discipline. I enjoy the teamwork and competition it brings. I’ve also been around football all my life, with my grandfather being a coach.
What makes you a good teammate?
I’m a good teammate because I work hard, keep a positive attitude, and always have my teammates’ backs. I listen, communicate, and care about the team winning more than anything.
What type of defense do you enjoy facing the most?
I like facing cover two defenses because I can push the ball down the middle of the field and challenge the secondary.
As an athlete, in any sport, at any age, what has been your biggest moment?
My biggest moment was hitting a walk-off home run after being called up to play for an older team. It showed me I can perform under pressure.
What is your favorite part of practice?
My favorite part of practice is the way our coaches run it to get everyone involved and how we all come together as one to execute and get the job done day in and day out.
What is the toughest part of practice?
The toughest part of practice is the physical aspect, especially when we’re tired, and having to mentally push past it to keep going.
Who are your role models?
My biggest role model is my grandfather, George Novak. He spent many years coaching football, and his deep understanding of the game has had a huge influence on me. Growing up, I learned so much just by watching him—how he led with passion, how he broke down plays, and how he connected with his players on a personal level. He didn’t just teach me about technique and strategy but also about discipline, leadership, and respect for the game. His dedication and love for football inspired me from a young age, and I carry that same mindset with me every time I step on the field.
What is your go-to snack?
My go-to snack is definitely a banana with peanut butter.
What is your favorite subject or class?
Math
